Two middle names plus double barrelled surname?

[name_f]My[/name_f] children will have a double barrelled surname (two syllable-one syllable). I’ve always had a secret desire to give my children 2 middle names as I love these combos and the flow! (Plus using more gorgeous names of course :joy:)

However, is using two middle names PLUS a double barrelled surname complete overkill? I feel like it probably is but just wanted some outside opinions!

It’s a little overkill, but doable.

I think it is too much. I have a first (3 syllables) , middle (4 syllables) , and two surnames (7 syllables) and it’s an actual nightmare trying to fit it in some forms or the little space they give you on paperwork.

Even though your surnames are a lot shorter than mine I think the full name might end up being just as long with the extra middle name.

My kids will have a double barrel surname so we’ve decided to limit it to one middle name.

They’ll have about 8 or 9 syllable names when you add together first, middle and double surname and we felt that was long enough however I do know people with much longer names.

I guess it depends on the names. If it’s short like [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_u]Baker[/name_u]-[name_m]Jones[/name_m] it might be fine but [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_u]Baker[/name_u]-[name_m]Jones[/name_m] might be a little much.

I’m a big fan of long names, but I would probably just use one middle name. Having five names is a lot, specially if you live in a country where the tradition is to have only three (first, middle and surname).

I think it would be too much. [name_m]Five[/name_m] names seems like a nightmare with paperwork.

At first I was thinking that having the two middle names was fine but after reading some of the comments of people saying they have struggled to fit their name on paperwork I would probably stick with just one.
