If we are having a girl (it’s a surprise) I would like to give her two middle names to honor both of my grandmothers. I can’t choose just one (and this is our 2nd baby and probably last, our other child is a boy) and I don’t want to do a smoosh name (no Renesmees ha!). My grandmother’s names are Rosemary and Maggie. I originally had Eve Rosemary Margot but I’m liking Eve Rosemary Pearl better right now. I got to Pearl because Maggie --> Margaret and the meaning of Margaret is pearl.
My husband has two middle names and he said it’s annoying, but I don’t think it’s caused any major trauma I figure on official forms where there’s only room for one middle name or one middle initial, we would just use her first middle and drop the second. If she one day gets married and wants to keep her maiden name, she can drop one or both of her middles. I don’t think it would be a huge deal, and since Eve is such a short first name, her full name won’t be too terribly long. I have one middle name, and her name would only be 4 letters longer than mine.
I was totally going to do this! When our daughter was born the first name we’d chosen just didn’t fit her though, so we just went with the two family names…[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] sounds gorgeous! But I also like just [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. Maybe with the nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or [name_f]Em[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
We gave two middle names with our last girl and plan on doing it for this girl as well. We just added another one syllable middle names so it wouldn’t be so long. [name_m]Just[/name_m] consider how many syllables your last name has as well.
Today is my due date and, upon his arrival, my son will be getting two middles! I don’t usually like two middle names, but these flow pretty well and we had a lot of honoring to do. I think your daughter will be fine in life. Sure, it might be a minor annoyance occasionally, but how many times do you need your middle name anyway? I think the family significance is most important. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a wonderful name!
I say do it. The name is lovely and I have never met anyone with 2 middle names that considers it a serious issue. I have a friend with 4 middle names and he loves it.
I like this idea, as I am planning on doing this myself. My first daughter will have [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as her middle names. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] was my nana’s middle name and [name_u]Gray[/name_u] was the name of the street my grandparents lived when I was growing up.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is pretty, but depending on your last name, I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] might flow better. Or even [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
One more idea, playing with the meaning of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (pearl)–[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]? I think I might like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] better but not sure. Last name is two syllables, if you take Molson but subtract the M you’ve got it.
My husband has two middle names and functionally it means the second one gets left off a lot of paperwork, official records, etc. It’s more common in some countries/regions, so that should also be a consideration.
I feel strongly about not giving girls two middles because then she has the option of keeping her maiden name as a second middle later on, though of course this might not be important in all families.
I like the idea of two middle names and my sons will both have two when they’re born. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is ok, but [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds better to me.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is gorgeous! I love that one a lot. I think two middle names is good, especially if they flow together nicely.
I like two middles and here the sounds of all the names together are really pretty. [name_m]Just[/name_m] beautiful. I was thinking, “how poetic,” but then I paused - they are all word names. Maybe it doesn’t matter, it’s not like they are all flowers or anything. You have a time of day, a plant, and an object. It’s quite interesting!
I was thinking that if [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] isn’t short for anything, then [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is already a “smoosh” of the two names. You have the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and the ‘O’ sound from [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] covered, and [name_f]Mag[/name_f] from [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is in there, plus the punchy two syllables. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would be a beautiful, sleek name.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous as a combination, and the fact that the two middles are family names would sway me towards that option even if I weren’t a fan already.
I personally love those names, and 2 middle names is far from strange! I love the idea of those two middle names together, and it’s especially good when they have meaning. Go for it! You’ll be glad you did
Most of the time I think 3 names are just too much, but [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] flows beautifully, and I think it’s lovely.
And I find this comment extremely rude. By the way, if you wish to insult someone, I recommend using the correct *two, before doing so, as it makes your point appear even sillier than before.
Regardless, two middle names are actually very normal where I live, my cousin, mother, aunts, grandfather, and many classmates all had two middles, and I’ve actually always been jealous that I only have one. I would have loved to be [name_u]Haley[/name_u] [name_f]Alannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or something haha.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is beautiful!
