The only names we both like enough are [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. Neither of them are “[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]” but we like them well enough to use.

I like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] better than [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. It seems unique to me because I haven’t met an [name_m]Archer[/name_m] but it’s trendy and I’m sure it’s quite popular amongst new moms.
I have met one [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] around my age (I’m 21.) It’s his middle name and he goes by it because he likes it more than his first. I like the classic feel of the name, but it’s also not popular (to my knowledge) or trendy.
I think either is great. They’re both handsome names, but I urge you to choose something that stands out to you and that you both love! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t settle!

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] - Also on my short list due to it’s classic yet “making-a-comeback” feel, like [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], while matching the “A” in [name_m]Archer[/name_m].
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - 2 syllable “A” name. Classic, but not trendy as far as I know.
[name_u]August[/name_u] - Think this name might be slowly creeping up the charts and has been growing on me! 2 syllable “A” name.
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - Quirky, masculine, a little popular but also charming. 2 syllable name.
[name_u]River[/name_u] - Same nature feel as [name_m]Archer[/name_m] which I like. 2 syllable name.
[name_m]Abel[/name_m] - Classic, 2 syllable “A” name with not much popularity.

Have you guys flipped through a name book? Maybe there is something that will jump out at you somewhere 
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] because of the nickname “[name_m]Archie[/name_m]”!
We have gone through name books, SSA lists, and nameberry lists, etc and we don’t agree on much. It’s been quite a process. We actually started a year ago after my daughter was born because we knew we were going to try again as soon as safely possible.
I’ve suggested several of the names suggested here like [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] but he’s quite difficult.
DH wants to use [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] or [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] and while I like [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], it’s too big of a name for me to use in real life, and [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] is too gladiator for me (which i just realized is one of his favorite movies, sigh).
My dream boy names are [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_m]Merlin[/name_m], but DH says I like sound like a fantasy fangirl (Twilight and a wizard). [name_m]Merlin[/name_m] was my grandfather name but that doesn’t change his mind.
I love the nickname [name_u]Mars[/name_u] and it won me over on [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]. I liked the full name [name_m]Archer[/name_m] more but my husband wants to use the nickname AJ ([name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]) and I don’t like that so I’ll call him [name_m]Arch[/name_m] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m] if I really want to use a nickname. So torn still!

I like Eminem. He can be juvenile but he’s evolved as a person and done decently with his life. Marginal celebrities don’t sway my opinion on names a whole lot because they come and go.
DH is moving more towards [name_m]Archer[/name_m] though. I’m okay with that but I’ve grown fond of ther nickname “[name_u]Mars[/name_u]”

I like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] better. The only [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] I’ve ever known was a douche so that may be influencing me here, but it also just sounds trashy.
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] is much less expected (although no less fabulous) than [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. Both are quite lovely, though. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] seems like one of those classic, traditional, but underused names that everyone is looking for. I think it really hits the sweet spot.
Out of the two, I like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] better. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] seems dated to me.
