Tying in Family Names

Yesterday I posted about some important family names, and now I’m trying to work them into combos. I managed to come up with:

[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_u]Aberdeen[/name_u] - My great grandmother [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (who was always [name_f]Molly[/name_f]) was from [name_u]Aberdeen[/name_u], [name_f]Scotland[/name_f]. Though I never met her, I figured that, since my other great grandmothers are being honoured (some not intentionally), [name_f]Molly[/name_f] (Granny) should get a spot.

[name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] - My great x 4 aunt [name_f]Sissy[/name_f] (born [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]) was the head nurse aboard the Titanic. Her story’s an amazing one, a young crew member, about 17, threw her into a lifeboat, saving her, and sacrificing himself. (If only we knew what his name was). Since I’m not a fan of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] or [name_f]Sissy[/name_f], and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] doesn’t suit my great-great-great-great Aunt [name_f]Sissy[/name_f]'s personality (from what I’ve read, she died in 1933), [name_f]Sally[/name_f] seemed perfect. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is after my great grandmother, (who hated being called [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]…).

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is after my grandmother, who passed away when I was 11. She and I were always fairly close, so I felt like honouring her would be nice. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is after her mother (who is still alive), who I am equally close to.

[name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] - [name_f]Lena[/name_f] was the name of my great great grandmother ([name_f]Margaret[/name_f]'s mum, [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]'s grandmother), and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] was the name of my other great grandmother, both on my dad’s side. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] is also [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]'s middle name. I’m also considering [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f], since [name_f]Lena[/name_f]'s birth name was [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f].

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] - [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is after [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], my great grandmother, and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] is after the 2 ladies with [name_f]Florence[/name_f] in their name.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] - [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] after my great grandfather ([name_m]Charles[/name_m], my mum wanted to name a 3rd daughter/1st son after him), and [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] after my maternal grandmother, who I admire more than anyone.

What do you think of the combos? [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to mix up the combos, suggest variants to the family names, and leave some input!

I really like [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] with my favorite combo being [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_u]Aberdeen[/name_u] - It sounds a bit like a name from a fairytale and I love it.
[name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] - Not sure about double L sounds.
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - Sweet vintage sound, love it.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] - It’s lovely, but I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] - I think this one is my favorite. [name_m]Light[/name_m], flowery and sophisticated.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] - Beautiful, I love it.

All these combos are wonderful, the only one I’m not sure about is [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], maybe?

I thought about [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but it felt a bit too plain for me

@lawsonhaley, oh, maybe [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] (from that list of elegant British names that you love)?

[name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is gorgeous, haha, I completely forgot about that list!

If you are really really serious about this, please keep in mind that one day your SO may have opinions, tastes, people to honor… so don’t get too emotionally sold.

I’m not too emotionally sold - but who’s to say I can’t dream? Haha. I’m actually really open to changes, but as for right now, while it’s only me I have to worry about, I’d like them on my list. It’s more or less brainstorming - I doubt anyone I meet would want a little girl named [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], but they’re still on my list right now, and both names honour family for me in a way.

I like doing it like this now, while I’m 18, and not having children anytime soon, and then when I do have a significant other, I’ll start being more serious about things then.

I appreciate the concern/advice - but I’m more mature/less stubborn than I seem  haha. I’m used to my ideas not being liked from school and everything, so I fully get that, more than likely, my husband (when I, yanno, meet him, marry him) won’t have the same style as I do, but I’m willing to shift things. I know quite a few teenberries with solid combos though - I think all of us are open/subject to change.

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I don’t usually care for either name, together they’re perfect and definitely my favourite combo.

Please don’t use [name_u]Aberdeen[/name_u], even in the middle…

[name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_m]Field[/name_m]'s birth name - it certainly worked for her. All your combos are lovely, though.

I adore [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f].
