I’m going through this right now! I’m pregnant with baby girl and due next week! This may be our last child and if so, only girl. If it were up to me with no DH input I’ll go with either [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] has been my favorite name for years. [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is a name I’ve fallen for hard! Wasn’t even on my radar until a few months ago. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a family name with a lot of meaning. Other honor names that I would consider for middle names are [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
[name_f]My[/name_f] ultimate girls name is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], I’ve loved it forever. Not sure about the middle to be honest, maybe something [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] related so [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] or [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] because thats always been my favourite book series.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] after my mother and because I love the name.
If I only had one daughter, she’s going be [name_f]Joy[/name_f] [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] or [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], just because I love the combo
I’d probably use [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], if I’m being honest. There’s a million and one reasons why it’s sentimental to me, and I always vowed my oldest daughter would have [name_f]Grace[/name_f] somewhere in her name to honor my grandma. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] has my heart.
Although lately I’ve been wondering if I would use [name_f]Adele[/name_f] if I ever had a wee one–I adore [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], but after over a decade of loving her, she just seems like she’s there, and [name_f]Adele[/name_f] makes my heart sing.
Lately I’ve been loving Hebrew names so much though, and could easily see me going with something like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_u]Tali[/name_u], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Odelia[/name_f], or [name_f]Nechama[/name_f]. [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] are crushes of the day that I could totally see me committing to, as well.
Obviously, I am very indecisive, lol, but maybe I could do a happy medium like [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Nechama[/name_f], or I could be lucky and be blessed with twins! haha.
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Shara[/name_f], nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]/[name_u]Romy[/name_u] is just one of my favorite names, but it has the added benefit of honoring two great aunts ([name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]). I once told my mother that she could choose my first daughters mn. She chose [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], after her mother (who went by [name_u]Kaye[/name_u]). It also honors her since her name is [name_f]Kathy[/name_f]. [name_f]Shara[/name_f] is a combination of my sisters, [name_f]Sharon[/name_f] and [name_f]Erica[/name_f].
I’ve had my ultimate girl name set for quite some time now: [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is a particularly special honor name, and [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] is an old family name. But I do truly love both names on their own, too. They are beautiful and feminine, and I can’t imagine a better, more meaningful name to give a daughter of mine.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Heather[/name_f].
[name_f]Heather[/name_f] is after my mom. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] just feels right. We will probably nn her [name_u]Coco[/name_u].
Currently, if I have a daughter, I would name her [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]. [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] because it’s an [name_f]English[/name_f] transcription of the Arabic name [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f], which connects with my second family, and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] after my nan.
If I was to have only one daughter, and no other children, I think I would call her [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. I really can’t decide between the two, I love them both. Right now my favourite combos are [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. Neither of these names honor anyone, they are simply names I’ve loved for a long time. However, my favourite name for a boy is [name_u]Jude[/name_u], so if I already had a son or planned another child, I’d definitely go for [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] over [name_f]Juno[/name_f].
This is so hard! I would definitely have [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] as a middle as it’s a special honour name for me and either [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] to honour quite a few amazing women. For the first name, I’m more undecided but I think I’d go with [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. It’d depend on which name I thought suited her more and probably also how I felt on the day.
I think if I were only to have one girl, her name would be [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. It doesn’t have the best flow compared to some of the others I love, but it would be the most meaningful. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is in honor of my [name_f]Oma[/name_f] (grandma) because she taught me to identify the phoebe’s song in the spring. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is in honor of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Alcott[/name_u]. [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women is likely my favorite book and it’s important to me to honor it in one of the names I use!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]. I have always loved the name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - its light, its friendliness, its stylishness. I think it ages so well, too. [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] is a nod to an experience I had growing up that taught me independence and courage and left me a changed person. All things that I hope a daughter would experience one day!
Ooohhhh… HARD!
Probably
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but as close second and third [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
I think I would have to call her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
it would honor two people I want to honor.
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u], and i just love it so much, it fits her perfectly. If i would have a second daughter her name would probably be [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
This is easy for me, she’d be [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Nomi[/name_f]. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] has been my favorite girl name for a while and I could use it to honor two different relatives (but that’s less important). [name_f]Nomi[/name_f] isn’t a name I love by itself but I do like it and I feel like it was meant to be [name_f]Esther[/name_f]’s middle name. I don’t know how else to describe it.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is lovely.
Thank you!
I may be in this exact situation. We have a son and our last baby is currently on the way and looked like a girl on our last ultrasound. Right now I am bouncing back and forth between [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Rey[/name_u]. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] has been one of my favorite names since I heard it on a little girl in the early 2000’s, but has become much more popular than it once was. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] is my great grandmother’s name. She raised my mother and by all reports was an amazing woman. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a combo of my maiden name which included [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] so I like that we get both sides of my family and I love the nicknames. [name_u]Rey[/name_u] is my husband’s pick. After [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars of course. I like that it means “[name_m]King[/name_m]” and balances out the girlie ness of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
