Unique Nicknames for Katherine/Catherine

[name_m]Just[/name_m] as it says on the tin. I just want everyone’s ideas on unique K/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nicknames. Please no Kates, Katheys, Katies, or Kats.

[name_u]Kay[/name_u]/[name_f]Cay[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_f]Karin[/name_f].

[name_u]Kay[/name_u], [name_f]Rina[/name_f], [name_f]Rinna[/name_f] are others that come to mind. Maybe go with a middle name for a nickname, or shorten and combine the first and middle?

[name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_u]Cato[/name_u], [name_f]Rena[/name_f], [name_f]Carrie[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Cathy[/name_f].

My favorites are [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and [name_f]Rina[/name_f]

[name_u]Ren[/name_u]! Or maybe [name_f]Carinne[/name_f]

Our daughter’s name is [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. She usually goes by [name_f]Cate[/name_f], but sometimes we’ll call her [name_u]Cato[/name_u] or [name_f]Kasia[/name_f] (pr. Ka-sha). [name_u]Cato[/name_u] comes from combining [name_f]Cate[/name_f] and middle initial O (although I think [name_u]Cato[/name_u] works just as well as a nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] on its own) and [name_f]Kasia[/name_f] is a nickname for [name_f]Katarzyna[/name_f], the Polish version of the name (my mother’s family is Polish).

[name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and [name_f]Rena[/name_f] are what came to mind for me, but [name_f]Erin[/name_f] could definitely work, or an international variant, maybe?

I think [name_f]Katka[/name_f] is a Russian variant. There’s also Rini and [name_f]Thera[/name_f].

I second the suggestions of [name_f]Cricket[/name_f], [name_m]Kitto[/name_m], and my personal favorite, [name_u]Cato[/name_u] <3 There’s also Kateri, Kit, Catkin, Kitcat, Katia, Hecate, and Zoé {long story… it works if you know St. Catherine Labouré}.

My favorite one is [name_u]Kit[/name_u] even though traditionally its used as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]
[name_f]Rin[/name_f]/Ryn
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Inez[/name_f]
[name_u]Kay[/name_u]
[name_f]Corrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Karina[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f]

Thank you so much, everybody, for your input. You’ve all given me some really great ideas, and I really love the Polish nn and even the Polish full name for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. The Russian one is lovey, too. A few of them are names that I ran into on this site or just knew already, but most are ones I’ve never heard. You’ve all given me tons to think about, so again, thank you so very much for your participation.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] Wintour’s daughter is a [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn: [name_f]Bee[/name_f].

Katesby, Katrienne (Katrie) Katrianna (Katria), Katalie,

I like [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and [name_f]Katia[/name_f] as nontraditional nicknames for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. You could also use [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] (which could work for any K name really), or [name_u]Kari[/name_u]/[name_f]Kara[/name_f], taken from Katherine.
