So are we voting on the spelling or the combo?? My favorite spelling does not have my favorite middle.

Visually, I like [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] the best. But I like the mih- sound better than muh. I also like that with [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] you could get the nickname [name_u]Mika[/name_u]. If that’s appealing to you…

I voted [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f], with [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] a close 2nd. I’m not a fan of the other 2 spellings.

In the SSA list [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] is #94 so you may want to go with that one since it’s the most popular spelling. The reason you might want to choose the most popular current spelling is there is less chance she will have to constantly correct other people’s misspelling of her name if you give her a popular spelling. MicKayla looks so horrible that, to be blunt, if I were a hiring manager with fifty resumes on my desk for one job, I would instantly toss the one with this name on it. It looks uneducated AND pretentious. Also, it looks like a typo…did she misspell her own name? That’s how bad it looks!

[name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is my favorite combo, but I prefer the [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] spelling.

I like [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] because I say mih more than muh when I say the name. It is a pretty name, but all these questions about spelling drive me away from it. It might not bother you (and that’s good!) but it would bother me. MicKayla is really confusing - some names start with McK- and others [name_m]Mick[/name_m]- but [name_m]MicK[/name_m]- is really unappealing and does look like a typo.

I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] in the middle, or [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. [name_f]Locklyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] have too many of the same sounds as [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f], especially [name_f]Locklyn[/name_f] - it sounds like [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f]-la-la.

I prefer the [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] spelling but [name_f]Locklyn[/name_f] is horrible.

My favorite variant spelling {and the only one I like more than the original}, is [name_f]Micaela[/name_f] <3 It just seems crisp and fresh to me. As for the poll, I chose Makaila.

I like the spelling [name_f]Makayla[/name_f] best, plus [name_f]Locklyn[/name_f] is adorable.

I’ve never much been fond of [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], this spelling, but I always had a GP love for [name_f]McKayla[/name_f]. I would never use it, just because I feel like traditional spellings are always best, but I do like [name_f]McKayla[/name_f] a lot, and I think [name_f]McKayla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]McKayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] would be lovely. I know it wasn’t listed, but that’s the only spelling I really find remotely appealing. [name_f]Mckayla[/name_f], [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f], Mikaylah, etc. just seem outrageously spelled to me. And when I first came across [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] (well, it was spelled [name_f]Michaella[/name_f]), I thought it was [name_u]Michael[/name_u]-uh, so it seems rather confusing to me still. Good luck!
