Unusual floral - Astilbe?

Hi berries,

I was looking at a gardening website and came across the flower Astilbe (ah-stil-bee) and thought that might actually make a lovely girls name, especially as a middle. Am I crazy? I can’t see it has ever been used as a person’s name.

It has all the right sounds to be a name (reminiscent of [name_u]Aster[/name_u], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & Thisbe) and having the general floral/botanical link also draws it in in that way too. I think it could definitely work and make a very cool little middle name. Nice find.

I’ve tried to grow them where I live and they always die, but otherwise, it’s a fine floral name.

I like it! Nicknames Bea/Bee or [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] would be adorable too!

Astilbe is one of my favorite flowers, especially in bouquets - they’re so frothy and fairy-like! I think it makes an adorable name and as mentioned above, there are tons of nickname options.
