[name]Vivi[/name] would work! Or [name]Ria[/name]. I dont think [name]Viviana[/name] would though
We almost decided on the name [name]Scarlett[/name] for our last baby (who ended up being a boy!) and we were going to use the nickname Scar in passing and then [name]Carly[/name] as a more formal nickname. Her middle name was going to be [name]Rosalie[/name] so we were going to call her [name]Carly[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. I think [name]Etta[/name] and Sassy would work, and so would the vintage nickname [name]Lettie[/name]. Sassy would especially work if she has a sassy personality!
[name]Vika[/name] (also spelled Vichka) is a common Eastern European nickname for [name]Victoria[/name] that I love. I also like [name]Vita[/name] but not a fan of [name]Vicky[/name] or [name]Tori[/name]. [name]One[/name] of the Victorias I know goes by both [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Vicky[/name], and the other is always [name]Victoria[/name]- so yes it’s possible to avoid a nickname.
I like the idea of Sassy for [name]Scarlett[/name] because the name makes me think of a girl who would be sassy and fiery! [name]Etta[/name] and [name]Carly[/name] are nice too.
As you can see from my signature. [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] are two of my favourite names! [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] does make a pretty powerful combo, but not the best with your last name. Perhaps a second middle would help?
My name is [name]Victoria[/name], and as I’ve said on another thread, avoiding the dreaded [name]Vicki[/name]/[name]Tori[/name] has NOT been a problem for me at all. Yes, people occasionally think they can call me those names, but I just say I prefer [name]Victoria[/name] ,and that’s that. It is not burdensome AT ALL to have a nickname-prone name and not want to be called a nickname. Honestly, I get asked what my secret is a lot more than I get called [name]Vicki[/name]!
Bottom line, I think if you/your child do you want to use the nickname, it won’t stick. And she’ll easily go by either [name]Victoria[/name] or a nickname of your choice. If you love the name [name]Victoria[/name], don’t let the nickname issue stop you from using it. I love my name, occasional [name]Vicki[/name]-deflecting and all.
That said, my husband calls me [name]Ori[/name] and I love it
I have a [name]Scarlett[/name] she goes by [name]Sky[/name]. I love [name]Victoria[/name] and plum would be my pick for a nn. You really cant go wrong.
I have a daughter named [name]Scarlett[/name] and she doesn’t have any public nicknames. I had the same hesitation as you; and considered a lot of the same nicknames but in the end, people just call her by her given name. Sometimes we call her “Scarlietta” or “Scarlettini” which has led to “teeny” or “scarly cakes” but that is more of a pet name for us and not a nickname. I thought about assigning a nickname like “[name]Scout[/name]” or “[name]Etta[/name]” ([name]Ettie[/name] sounded too much like eddy for my taste and I would never call my daughter “scar”, personally) but they seemed forced and in the end, her given name is short and sweet and that’s what we call her. Good luck, there are some great suggestions on here!
^I agree with above [name]Vita[/name], [name]Via[/name], Vie (pr like letter V) was going to be my choice for nn’s for [name]Victoria[/name] as a first, but we are using it as a middle. With [name]Scarlett[/name] it’s 2 syllables I don’t think it requires a nn and none of the nicknames are really cute for it. I guess I’d say [name]Ettie[/name]?
