Sometimes it’s useful to grab a hard copy of the Yellow Pages (there’s probably one at the library if you don’t have one in the house anymore) and just pore over it for a bit.

That’s really weird because i am writing a future story too and i do like the sound of Danvers.
This may be late but Venes is quite a unusual one and Hawkins aswell. If you need unusual names a girls one would be Lenia.
If anyone is writing a story out their you rock and dont stop half way through and give up like most of my stories just keep going. Like amazingly one of my friends got to the second round in the Radio 2 500 words thing she didnt give up.

Alright so I use www.namegenerator.biz for my random last names and other things. They are truly names I have never heard of! They don’t do names like [name_m]Smith[/name_m] and [name_m]Brown[/name_m] and things like that. Its like [name_m]Richmond[/name_m] and Church and Bey and Beaudette and so many others so I recommend going there!
On behindthename.com you can browse lists of surnames sorted by country, which I’ve found to be very useful. They also have data on meaning and commonness.
