Updating Old Names

The last few posts [name]Ive[/name] read I noticed a trend… names within a name ([name]Joaquin[/name] [name]Rafael[/name] [name]Pheonix[/name] going by “[name]Leaf[/name]” -the end of [name]RaFAEL[/name] backwards) and [name]Neveah[/name] ([name]Heaven[/name] backwards) I love this idea- esp. if wanting to honor a family name but adding your own twist- can anyone else come up with any ideas or similar ways to spruce up an old name? First thing that comes to mind with me is taking the name “[name]Anna[/name]” or “[name]Anne[/name]”, and updating it…
ie.
Savnnah
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Dianne[/name]
[name]Diana[/name]
etc…

or if you and your partner have a child you cna honor all 4 grandmas/grandpas by taking the 1st letter of there name and spelling a name…
ex:
If between the 2 of you yours grandmothers names are say…/
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
and
[name]Nancy[/name]
you could name your daughter [name]EDEN[/name]

I think it’s a great new trend, I can see it catching on more.

My fiance and I’s middle names are [name]Rhiannon[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] respectively, but we don’t really want either one on a potential child, so we derived [name]Rhia[/name] and [name]Xander[/name] from them!

Another example would be the Sh- prefix that runs in his family - Aunt [name]Sheryl[/name], Aunt [name]Shari[/name], and Cousin [name]Shannon[/name] for starters - but since those are feeling pretty outdated for us, we added [name]Shana[/name] to our list. It happily continues the trend without having to re-use older names!

I like this-alot!
My daughters name is actually [name]Savanna[/name], after my mom, [name]Anna[/name]
Another good thing, is of course, using family last names as your babies first name. Maybe your maiden name, or yours mom maiden name, etc…

I love the idea of creatively honouring people

DH and I named our daughter [name]Ambrosia[/name], which is a sort of smush of lots of people who we wanted to honour; [name]Amber[/name], [name]Amanda[/name] and [name]Primrose[/name].

Combining the parents names or family namess is always fun…

[name]Katie[/name] & [name]Joel[/name] = [name]Kole[/name]
[name]Nancy[/name] & [name]Leigh[/name] = Naleigh

I cant think of any others… haha
