hit me with all your do and don’t for [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and Vali.
i think i am liking Vali a bit more then Vale, it may be because i have found it easier to pair up (loving Vali Dawn) and i think it just sounds a bit sweeter.
I love [name_u]Vale[/name_u], but think it’s be better as a nickname. [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], [name_u]Valery[/name_u], [name_f]Valencia[/name_f]? [name_u]Vale[/name_u] is a bit trendy.
I love [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and completely agree that it fits perfectly with your existing children’s names. I think it’s stylish but unlikely to seem dated.
I really like the sound of [name_u]Vale[/name_u], but I would also try to use it as a nickname for one of the long forms the pp suggested. Also [name_u]Vale[/name_u] reminds me a lot of the Knights of the [name_u]Vale[/name_u] from Game of Thrones, so I don’t know how you feel about that association.
oh i like the mixed feedback! i also didn’t realise how “trendy” [name_u]Vale[/name_u] is… do you know anyone named [name_u]Vale[/name_u]?
i also don’t think i like any of the longer versions… but glad you guys think it fits in
is [name_f]Vali[/name_f] more or less common/trendy then [name_u]Vale[/name_u]?
I know someone who knows someone whose name is [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] but she goes by [name_u]Vale[/name_u]…I think it’s pretty for a nickname or a middle name. I wouldn’t necessarily call it “trendy” because it’s much less common than other one-syllable names that definitely are trendy, like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
i found it easier to find middles for [name_f]Vali[/name_f] then [name_u]Vale[/name_u] but this is what i have:
[name_f]Vali[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Vali[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u]
[name_f]Vali[/name_f] [name_f]Effie[/name_f]
i think at the moment my number one pick is [name_f]Vali[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]! i’m not really fan of [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] but i kind of really love it with [name_f]Vali[/name_f]!
any help on middles?
I like [name_u]Vale[/name_u]. I think it’s simple, and has nice imagery. [name_f]Vali[/name_f] feels a bit made up to me and whilst it may be cute on a baby I don’t think it’d age well. It could easily be a nickname for [name_u]Vale[/name_u] though.
[name_u]Truly[/name_u] love [name_u]Vale[/name_u]! [name_m]Even[/name_m] by itself, I think it sounds complete. Really strong yet, as another poster noted, tranquil. Not sure how to pronounce [name_f]Vali[/name_f]…is it “[name_f]Valley[/name_f]” or “Valey”…[name_f]Vali[/name_f] is definitely more unique, but I don’t think [name_u]Vale[/name_u] is trendy at all. I’m a pediatric nurse in the US and I’ve never heard it and I hear a lot of names!
[name_f]Vali[/name_f] is pronounced like [name_f]Bali[/name_f] with a v (vah-lee)
thanks for your feedback… does [name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] give the same vibes as [name_f]Vali[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]?
When I saw the title of this thread I assumed [name_u]Vale[/name_u] was a boy’s name and really liked it. I prefer the two syllable [name_f]Vali[/name_f] for a girl but fear you will have pronunciation problems. I like [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] as a middle for a two syllable first name but, having that as a first name myself, can say that [name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] sounds very masculine to my ear.
I think [name_u]Vale[/name_u] seems more complete to me and would transition better into adulthood. I also assumed that this thread referred to a boy when I just saw the name [name_u]Vale[/name_u], but I think it could work well for a girl as well. The combo [name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] makes me think “veiled dawn” and gives me a very pleasing nature image in my mind.
I am not a big fan of [name_f]Vali[/name_f], especially with the volley pronunciation. In general, I think I find an i ending incomplete as a full name, and I don’t think the pronunciation is intuitive. Personally, I think of volleyball, which isn’t bad. I would probably also choose a longer name where I could use both/either of these nicknames, like [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]/a, [name_f]Valencia[/name_f], or even [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. I think this would be more important if it’s important to you for the name to “read” feminine.
i don’t mind the name/s not sounding feminine but it is interesting to hear peoples interpretation!! thanks!!
[name_f]Vali[/name_f] has more of a ‘uh’/‘ah’/‘ar’ sound then ‘oh’ - [name_f]Vali[/name_f] has the ah sound as [name_f]Marly[/name_f]/[name_f]Bali[/name_f]. thanks for your longer name suggestions but i think i prefer either [name_f]Vali[/name_f] as a stand alone or nn for [name_u]Vale[/name_u]
