Valeria

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

What do you think of the name [name_f]Valeria[/name_f]? [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it? Va-LEER-ia? Va-LARE-ria? Like [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], but with an -ia?

And of course, the obligatory question of how does it go with [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

Thanks!

I pronounce it va-LARE-ia. I personaly love it and it goes well with Herny.

I don’t particularly like it, but at the same time it is kind of pretty. I pronounce it val-er-ia

I also think it goes nicely with [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

I really like [name_f]Valeria[/name_f]. I pronounce it vuh-LEHR-ee-uh. I’m not sure I like it with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] though, since to me [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a very English name and I associate [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] more with Eastern and Southern Europe.

Pretty name…I pronounce it Val-er-ia. It goes with Henry nicely.

Thanks for the opinions! So far we have three different votes on different pronunciations… Haha.

I pronounce it val-ER-er-uh, like [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] with an a on the end. It’s one of those names I want to like but unfortunately it sounds a bit too much like malaria for me :frowning: [name_f]Valeriana[/name_f] is another, more frilly version.

that’s my name! So cool to see it discussed on here as I’ve hardly even seen it around these forums.
I pronounce my name va-LEH-ree-ah, like in most European languages. In Spanish they pronounce it with a b instead of a v, which I like too. I don’t particularly like the way my name is pronounced in English, though (although tbh I don’t like English that much in general so that might be why).
it took me some time to ‘grow’ into my name but now I can say that I really like it. It’s not that common so it gets misheard and misspelled allll the time, most often as [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], in spite of the stress and sounds of that name not even being that similar. And I don’t know if you’re a nickname kind of person but [name_u]Val[/name_u] and [name_u]Vale[/name_u] are pretty unavoidable, haha.
