Valley

I like it! I would spell it [name_f]Valley[/name_f].

I don’t know what a valley girl is I live in the UK but I really like it and I think it’s useable. If you are put off how do you feel about the name meadow? I would use it though as especially it has so much meaning for you.

I think “[name_f]Valley[/name_f]” is the nicest spelling of all of them. Valeigh is just a bit… creative. I hope you have a save and sound Pregnancy and delivery!

Valley is cute and meaningful. I would definitely stick with the [name_f]Valley[/name_f] spelling. I don’t think the valley girl association is a big enough deal to not use the name.

Sorry, I thought of [name_f]Valley[/name_f] Girl immediately and am very turned off by that association. I think it makes a promising middle option though. But I would not be comfortable putting a sexist, negative stereotype nickname option on a child. I can let some potential mean nicknames slide because kids are likely to grow out of them, but this is one mean nickname that would be too much to bear - I picture it only getting worse as they get older

I think [name_f]Valley[/name_f] is a really nice name! I would stick with the original spelling for two reasons:

  1. I instinctively pronounce Valeigh “Vay-lee”, not “[name_f]Valley[/name_f]”.

  2. It seems like it’s the actual word “valley” that means a lot to you (because of the lyric), and not the sound of the name, if that makes sense. If you loved the sound, the spelling wouldn’t matter, but I think it makes more sense to keep “[name_f]Valley[/name_f]” as that’s what the lyric is, not “[name_f]Vallie[/name_f]” or “Valeigh”.

The only thing is, even though I’m not American and barely know what valley girl means I immediately thought of the phrase. I agree with a previous poster that it could also work if you named her something like [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] and her nn was [name_f]Valley[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Valley[/name_f] and the meaning it has for you. [name_f]Valley[/name_f] sounds similar to names like [name_f]Ally[/name_f], [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], etc. so I definitely think it can work as a name. I didn’t think of “valley girl” until you mentioned it, but I don’t think it is that big of a deal. Once people know your daughter [name_f]Valley[/name_f], they will most likely associate it with her before “valley girl”. I don’t think “valley girl” is used much anymore. I have never heard anyone 25 or younger say it. I would also say stick to the [name_f]Valley[/name_f] spelling. It is the one that has the meaning behind it.

Valley is nice and that is a beautiful association.

Valley definitely for spelling. The other spellings are what make me think [name_f]Valley[/name_f] Girl.

I like [name_f]Valley[/name_f] and it’s meaning to you. I did think of [name_f]Valley[/name_f] girl but personally I feel like that’s an old reference (after all the song came out in the early 80’s)and while the phrase is still relevant it’s no longer prominent in today’s culture (how often have you seen a meme referring to a ‘valley girl’?) I wouldn’t.et the phrase deter you.
If it really does bother you I like the suggestion of using it as a nickname for [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] or [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]

I like it! A very accessible unique word name. I do think of valley girls, but that is a negligible association since it’s so dated. I also think of “valley of the shadow of death” which seems like more your personal meaning.

I would definitely spell it [name_f]Valley[/name_f].

I also think of a valley girl right off the bat but I agree that it is an old reference.

Valley is really lovely though

Here are some other names from this site
[name_f]Vallea[/name_f] = valley, the pronunciation is nice
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] = winding valley, I actually really like this meaning for you
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] = valley of the eagle
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]/Dana is close to [name_u]Dean[/name_u]/Dena = valley
[name_f]Serra[/name_f] could be from [name_f]Montserrat[/name_f] = a beautiful mountain range with an abbey in Catalonia, Spain it is totally beautiful there

I actually LOVE [name_f]Valley[/name_f]!
I think the valley girl reference is definitely older and not something her classmates at school would really be aware of. I think you should stick with the [name_f]Valley[/name_f] spelling or I don’t mind [name_f]Vallie[/name_f] either  good luck!
