Variations of Andrea?

My husband likes the name [name]Andrea[/name]. It’s not my favorite. I told him I’d consider it as a middle name.

For me, the main problem is that in [name]Italy[/name] (where we have family), [name]Andrea[/name] is a boy’s name only. There it’s pronounced An-DRAY-ah.

What variations of [name]Andrea[/name] can you suggest? Alternately, any ideas for name that could end up with the nickname [name]Andy[/name]?

The first name that popped into my head was [name]Adriana[/name], it has a similar but softer sound to [name]Andrea[/name]. Another similar name is [name]Adra[/name]

[name]Hi[/name]! A few more names with a potential [name]Andie[/name] nickname:

You could also give her an [name]Anne[/name] first name ([name]Anne[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], etc.) and a D middle to reach an “[name]Andie[/name]” nickname.

And it may be too out of the box for you, but one more option could be [name]Diana[/name], which contains the “An” sound, as well as most of the letters needed to reach [name]Andie[/name].

Good luck!

[name]Andria[/name] is a different spelling for [name]Andrea[/name]. But some good variations [name]Adrianna[/name]
