I am searching for a name that is a relation to the name [name_f]Laura[/name_f]. [name_f]Laura[/name_f] is my given name and while I am trying hard to like it I can not.
The name I have chosen for myself is [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Still can not decide on spelling. I find it hard to make a decision and stick to it.
So what names can you think of that are either similar or a variation of [name_f]Laura[/name_f]?
And which spelling of [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] do you prefer?
[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Loretta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorena[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] (in mythology [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is transformed into a laurel tree)
[name_f]Lolly[/name_f]
[name_f]Leelee[/name_f]
I generally prefer -ie to -y, and [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] seems fresh and [name_m]French[/name_m] to me. But I think most people will assume the [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] spelling, so you’d have to be okay with correcting that frequently.
What about [name_f]Aura[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lara[/name_f]? And I prefer the [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] spelling, it looks more classic and timeless to me.
When I saw [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] together I immediately thought of [name_f]Lura[/name_f].
But there is also:
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]/Lira
[name_f]Lorna[/name_f]
Lorea/[name_f]Loria[/name_f]
Laurys
[name_f]Lorelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Laurissa[/name_f]/[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] has a lot of charm too.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is my favorite “[name_f]Laura[/name_f]” name. I like [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] equally so I’m not help there.
You might also want to look into names with associated meanings – the bay laurel is associated with victory, a crown, etc. “[name_u]Bayley[/name_u]” actually has a different meaning but sound so much like “bay leaf.”
