I don’t know why but lately I have been obsessed with the name [name]Venus[/name] and [name]Aphrodite[/name]. Now I don’t think I could ever bring myself to use [name]Aphrodite[/name]. But [name]Venus[/name]…I’m back and forth on. So I really need opinions to help me make up my mind.
I really like the name [name]Venus[/name]! I used to know a lady called this, she was in her 20s but it suited her. [name]Venus[/name] does, ah, rhyme with something you might not want a name to rhyme with. But that’s not too bad, not worth throwing out such a beautiful name over, anyway.
I agree with lori_johnson that [name]Aphrodite[/name] would make a great middle name.
I think [name]Aphrodite[/name] is a million times better than [name]Venus[/name]. [name]Venus[/name] has the flytrap and certain rhymes, while [name]Aphrodite[/name] is simply unusual. Other goddesses of beauty are [name]Freya[/name], [name]Isis[/name], and [name]Inanna[/name].
Honestly, I just hear the commercial jingle for venus razerblades…
I can see [name]Venus[/name] or [name]Aphrodite[/name] as middles, I actually have met an [name]Aphrodite[/name] and somehow she pulled it off! I love pp suggestion of [name]Isis[/name].
I agree with namelover77 and lineska…I hear “I’m your [name]Venus[/name], I’m your fire, your desire” and I think [name]Aphrodite[/name] is beautiful and so underused. I don’t think of love and beauty with [name]Venus[/name], I think of a planet and a razorblade. I do think of love and beauty with [name]Aphrodite[/name].
My roommate in college was named [name]Venus[/name] and she absolutely hated her name, so much so that she had it legally changed to [name]Vanessa[/name]. I would seriously reconsider using both it and [name]Aphrodite[/name].
