[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys, I know y’all are probably fed up of my posts but I really appreciate the feedback.
Three quick questions;
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] works on all ages?
What is the best nickname in your opinion? (I have [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]/[name_u]Roni[/name_u], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] & [name_f]Vera[/name_f])
I’m head over heals for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a combo, and I just would like to get some feedback ([name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a family name)
(most of you know that it’s from my Riverdale obsession but I’ve never fallen in love with a character name like I have [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. It’s so much more to me than a name of a character.)
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is a name that, by some crazy coincidence, I have heard positive feedback about from multiple members of my family on two different occasions. It’s a name that I like and would love to hear on a little girl but it’s not something I would use personally. My 16yo sister heard it on Pretty [name_m]Little[/name_m] Liars and commented on how it was a pretty name, which surprised me because her style is very unique and not super classic (think [name_f]Ithaca[/name_f], Tzipporah, [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]). My mom has also said she wished she thought of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] when she was naming me and my sisters because she really likes it (but also said she would’ve hated it when my [name_f]Nana[/name_f] inevitably tried to call us “[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]” so she was glad for that reason).
I think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] could definitely work on all ages. As for nicknames, I strongly prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f].
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is pretty combo, and I love the family connection for you. Personally, I think if both names have a strong positive association (which it sounds like both do for you), then you have a winning combo.
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is nice! It feels tough, down to earth and serious, pretty and elegant all at once. I think it’s versatile and could work on all ages. The range of nicknames adds to that versatility. My personal favourite is [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]! [name_f]Nicki[/name_f], [name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_f]Vicki[/name_f] or [name_f]Nia[/name_f] could work too.
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has a pleasing simplicity!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] works on all ages?
I think it ages very well, also the NNs.
What is the best nickname in your opinion?
I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a NN next would be [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] but its a stretch for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] & too associated with [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] for me.
Some ideas, maybe a stretch- [name_m]Vero[/name_m], [name_f]Ona[/name_f]/Oni, [name_f]Nica[/name_f], [name_f]Nia[/name_f].
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a combo?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the combo! It has a classy elegance to it
Riverdale obsession
Riverdale is amazing. Loved the comics and the show is pretty awesome. My favourite characters being [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f], Jughead and [name_u]Josie[/name_u].
Some other names I love from Riverdale are… [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_m]Hiram[/name_m], [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Ethel[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Penny[/name_u]/[name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is a lovely, sophisticated name that works on all ages. I like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as nicknames. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a beautiful combination.
Edit: Vika (VEE-ka) and Nika (NEE-ka) would also make pretty nicknames too.
I also find [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] really sophisticated and feminine! I picture it more on an adult but can see it on a little girl, especially with some of the nicknames you’ve mentioned. I don’t love [name_u]Roni[/name_u] in theory but I think I could get on board with it in practice, if that makes sense. I like the idea of Veri (Viri? [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-ee is how I’m pronouncing it) as well as [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and [name_m]Vero[/name_m] and [name_f]Nica[/name_f]. I’m considering using [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] as a middle name as a tribute to my grandmother [name_f]Verna[/name_f], so I’m biased in its favour for sure.
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] works but I almost want to see something snappier with [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]… [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] came to mind first, or [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Liesl[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]?
I would love to use the name [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], but it is my MILs name, and my hubby finds that too strange! I think it ages wonderfully, I love the sound of it and it’s distinctive, easy to spell and easy to pronounce. Very familiar but not overused and has stood the test of time. An absolute gem of a name
I really like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], though the people I know have mixed opinions on it.I like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but I personally think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a bit overused as a middle name in general, though I think your family connection is nice. I really like oregano7’s suggestion for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] too
I think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] works beautifully for anyone! It’s quirky and playful, with lots of nickname options, for a little girl, but it feels strong and classy on an adult. My favorite nickname, hands down, is [name_f]Vera[/name_f]: It’s not a stretch, and I love the vintage vibe. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a vivid, beautiful name, and I particularly think the shared “r” sounds give it pop.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]- it seems very loud and obtrusive. It’s also a sexy name and it feels wrong to put on a little girl (just my opinion). I get why people would find it regal and elegant, I could see it on a [name_f]Queen[/name_f].
The nicknames like [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] are not my fav either.
I understand why you like it though (I love Riverdale and her character) but I just can’t imagine naming my kid that.
It’s not my favorite, but that’s a matter of tastes. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for all ages, I think it does! NN I do not like [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] at all, but again that’s a matter of style. I do like [name_f]Ronni[/name_f], [name_f]Vennie[/name_f], [name_f]Vonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and [name_f]Vika[/name_f].
As for the middle name, I’m not gushing. I find rose as a filler, but you said it’s an honor name, at the end of that Trumps my thoughts.
I also think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] would make a great sister to your other love- [name_m]Archibald[/name_m]
I really like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], especially with the nn [name_u]Nikki[/name_u]. I do think of it as a mature, sexy name, but not prohibitively so. It’s in that sweet spot of known yet uncommon, and it’s very difficult to assign an age to. It’s serious but still fun.
I like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. All the nicknames are good, I think [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] works best on a young child, [name_u]Roni[/name_u] on a teen/young adult and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] could be used as a more “professional” nickname. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds gorgeous.
I absolutely love [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. It is a spunky yet feminine name that I think works well for all ages.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is my favourite nickname from your list. I knew a [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] who went be Vee which I thought was both a cute & cool nickname
I have an extremely positive associations with the name [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. That was one of the first names I’ve ever liked as a 6 years old namenerd and also the name of the first person I’ve ever considered my best friend. In fact, the main reason I won’t use it (at least not as a first name) is because I associate it too strongly with my old friend and I want my daughter to have her own name, if that makes sense to you.
To me, [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is strong and beautiful. And yes, it works on old age. My friend went by [name_m]Vero[/name_m] or Vey (pronounced like [name_f]Fae[/name_f]. Her middle name starts with Y). Other than that I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. Also not really a fan of [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u], but I think that’s easily avoidable.
I just want to add that, while I think [name_m]Archibald[/name_m] and [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] go together really well stylistically, if I met them as siblings, I’d automatically assume the parents were huge Riverdale fans. I have seen a little bit of the show (I watched some of the first season) so maybe that’s why. Whether or not that’s a bad thing is up to you though! It’s a neutral thing to me so I wouldn’t think negatively or positively about the parents based on the connection.
Still think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is a gorgeous name though!
I love [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] for some reason (probably Riverdale, let’s be honest) and at one point I was considering [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a combo. As far as nicknames, my favourite is [name_u]Roni[/name_u]/[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u].
Thank you! Yes while I get the association (my family definitely wouldn’t let it go), I personally am okay with the theme but I’m hoping by the time I have children, Riverdale won’t be as big - but I adore the [name_m]Archie[/name_m] comics and I think it’s a great association for a fan.
