Very old Italian names (girls)

Taken from old census records that I had used to post in my blog. (This list is basically copied and pasted from my blog, actually). I thought some of you might find them interesting, or might need some inspiration. Any that really stick out to you? I was kind of surprised to find a female Paxe.

Most are from the 12th-16th century.

There’s some beautiful names on there. I especially like Corelia, Madolina, and Genevria. My grandma’s name in [name]Carmelina[/name]. It’s another beautiful old Italian name. Thanks so much for sharing these.

These are really fabulous–thanks so much for posting.

Fiametta–“little flame”–how great is that?

Great names! I love Micola, Adalasia, Aulina, Belaflore, Luliana, and Savia. [name]Plenty[/name] of these names would look right at home in the ‘modern’ world too.

My faves are [name]Fiammetta[/name] (I think this is the Italian spelling - they like a double dose of consonants in their names), [name]Donata[/name], [name]Penina[/name], [name]Corinna[/name], [name]Dulce[/name], [name]Leandra[/name], [name]Livia[/name] (nice alternative to the popular [name]Olivia[/name]), [name]Isotta[/name], Marsilia, [name]Gaia[/name] and [name]Nera[/name] (even if it’s the feminine version of the madman Emperor [name]Nero[/name]). Thanks for sharing, [name]Flick[/name]!
