Which do you prefer, and why?
Classic [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or the Italian [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f].
[name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] seems to be my preference, I like the calmer yet slightly exotic sound to it.

I love [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] the same way I love [name_f]Giulia[/name_f]- to me, it has a distinctly different feel than the classic [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Julia[/name_f], while being far more interesting. The only issue is that everyone (in the States at least) would think her name was [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], though unlike [name_f]Giulia[/name_f] the sound is different from the English classic so maybe that wouldn’t be too huge a problem.
I like [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f]–the ‘c’ in [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is a bit harsh. But both names are lovely.
I know a [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f], and she often has to remind people that her name has a two t’s, but besides that I think it’s the prettier of the two. She goes by [name_f]Tori[/name_f]
Haha, glad you made this post, I’ve been tossing up whether to make one or not. So thanks
I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f], though not sure how usable it is outside of [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. The t makes it more spunky and edgy to me.
I’m a [name_f]Giulia[/name_f], and it is nice to see my name getting some love!! I prefer [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] to [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], I really don’t like the [name_u]Vic[/name_u] sound or the potential [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] nickname.
I prefer the classic [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] because I don’t quite like names that are one or two letters away from really popular ones ([name_f]Sara[/name_f]-[name_f]Zara[/name_f] and so on); chances are they will be mistaken for more common names. And also, I have a soft spot for [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] as a nickname (I know, I know).
But I still think [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] sounds beautiful. It is fine for an Italian girl but if you are in the UK/US, I guess [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] would be easier to wear.
Another vote for Vittoria. I love Italian names. I like Victoria but don’t like Vicky or Vic. Don’t like Tori either, so I’d just be calling her Vittoria.
Most people will still think it’s [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], and you’d probably have to spell out too often.
