What are your favorite vintage boys’ names? I want to find 5 vintage boy loves. I am not sure what route I want to go with boy names.

I currently have -

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] ([name_m]Henry[/name_m] is in honor of my dad, [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is his favorite tree - there is a family story)

Thank you, witching.

I really like [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]. The others are not to me liking, except I think [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] are very sweet. [name_m]Casper[/name_m] was a friendly ghost but the name is so associated to him. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] I could see growing on me.

Thank you, apollonia.

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Gardner[/name_u] and [name_m]Flint[/name_m] as middle names. I would have never thought of [name_m]Pip[/name_m]. What a fun name. I am not sure if I would prefer it as a full name or a nickname. When I looked up [name_m]Pip[/name_m] I stumbled unto [name_u]Perrin[/name_u]. I can see [name_m]Piers[/name_m] or [name_u]Perrin[/name_u] “[name_m]Pip[/name_m]”. Thoughts?

I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] a lot. [name_u]Perrin[/name_u] also really caught my attention.

Also, [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] nn [name_m]Thorn[/name_m]
[name_u]Austen[/name_u]
[name_u]Alden[/name_u]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m] nn [name_u]Win[/name_u]
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u]

I’m leaning towards the literary names, particularly those who wrote about nature!

Thank you, milliegoat.

Literary names and nature in general have a special meaning and memories for us. I love many of these names. I have [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] as a middle name for [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. A guilty pleasure of mine is [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Thackeray[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] family loves it, I know that ones that have passed would love and/or appreciate the name also.

I know this is not the original subject of this thread, but a few other nature names you might like:

[name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Bardo[/name_m], [name_m]Leif[/name_m], [name_m]Lennox[/name_m], [name_m]Ogden[/name_m], [name_m]Phelan[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m]… [name_m]Walden[/name_m] is a good one too.

Thank you. I really like [name_m]Leif[/name_m], [name_m]Lennox[/name_m], and [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. I need to go look-up [name_m]Bardo[/name_m], [name_m]Ogden[/name_m], and [name_m]Phelan[/name_m]. I have not heard of those names.

[name_m]Piers[/name_m] and [name_u]Perrin[/name_u] are very fine names. Dapper and dashing and distinguished.

But, in a theoretical sibset with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Harry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Pip[/name_m] would be a nickname for [name_m]Philip[/name_m].

To me, these “core classics” in their full or diminutive form are destined to be together :):

[name_m]Albert[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]William[/name_m]

More nature middle ideas I love for you: [name_m]Birch[/name_m], [name_u]Elm[/name_u], [name_u]Finch[/name_u], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_u]Grove[/name_u], [name_m]Pike[/name_m], [name_u]Quarry[/name_u], [name_m]Ridge[/name_m], [name_u]Slate[/name_u], [name_u]Sorrell[/name_u], [name_u]Spruce[/name_u], [name_m]Wolf[/name_m].

Thank you. I have never liked [name_u]Phil[/name_u] but I can see [name_m]Philip[/name_m] growing on me. He would only go by [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Pip[/name_m]. I have been thinking hard about adding [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Bastian[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Birch[/name_m] ([name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] - both names honor my dad), [name_u]Finch[/name_u], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_m]Ridge[/name_m], [name_u]Sorrell[/name_u], and [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] ([name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] is on my short list). I never considered [name_u]Elm[/name_u], [name_u]Grove[/name_u], or [name_u]Spruce[/name_u]. I will be adding those to my middle name list. I stumbled on [name_m]Cove[/name_m] the other day. I have been considering [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] [name_m]Cove[/name_m].

Names I have been considering, vintage is my style but some of these are also modern sounding:
[name_m]Victor[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

Your names are great classics. I like them but they’re a little common feeling, to me, but I do love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I also prefer [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as nicknames.

Thank you, anaxandra.
