Does the name [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] sound vintage? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious
Is it classic?
To me it does. And it’s a great name.
I think so. Or you could go with [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] which is super vintage. It can be said like [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] (married to a historical figure) who pronounced her name “jor-jay-nuh” or like [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] of Pride and Prejudice pronounced his sister’s name “jor-jee-ah-nuh”
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is vintage. Not sure about [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] but probably. I like both.
I think it depends on how you pronounce it, My first impression of [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is that is a bit country music. But [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] has much more of a vintage classic sound to me.
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] seems 1920s to me while [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is more 1800s. I think the first is vintage/retro and the second is vintage/classic
I would definitely describe [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] as vintage/classic!
I agree with a previous poster; [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is vintage to me in a sort of pigtailed, lacrosse-playing [name_f]Enid[/name_f] Blyton schoolgirl way – [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f], on the other hand, is an elegant antique in a Pride and Prejudice sort of way.
I can’t decide which I like more. I think I’m inclining more towards [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] for its friendliness.
Absolutely! And it’s a perfect fit with your girls.
I would consider [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] vintage, but definitely not classic. Classic to me means that it has a long history of use and has remained popular over the years. [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is definitely an older name, but I don’t think of it as ever being very popular (I could be wrong!). I really love [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] because it is a less common variation of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and it feels sophisticated yet spunky to me. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is the classic name. [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] are variations, neither of which have ever been highly popular. [name_f]Georgianna[/name_f] is a vintage name. [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is sort of a more contemporary name. I don’t recommend [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] when you already have [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], they aren’t too close, but they don’t compliment each other.
I see [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] as vintage, but [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] as dated. Sorry!
Thanks but I wasn’t asking for opinions on if we should use it
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is definitely vintage and classic! I’m not sure why some are saying [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is more vintage, or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is more classic when several popularity charts from the 1880s-1910s (at least) in several countries, have [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] as a popular name, over the other two.
Great description, impwood. I agree completely.
Probably because [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] has been more popular in the 1880s - 1950s in the States and then it fell off the list while [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] has lasted longer into the 1990s and might feel more retro than classic or vintage?
