Vintagey Princess or Cringey?!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

[name_f][/name_f]

What do we think about the name [name_f]Lenora[/name_f]? I am drawn to it because it sounds like a beautiful princessey name with a vintage feel as well as the nickname options (Leni, [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f], etc)!! I also love that is easy to pronounce in my native language (Bosnian) as well as in [name_f]English[/name_f].

I’ve gotten some backlash for it that it sounds weird or grandma. Is it cringey?

Help!!

Too similar to [name_f]Lenor[/name_f] fabric softener. What about [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]?

I think it’s lovely. I hadn’t heard of [name_f]Lenor[/name_f] fabric softener until the other commenter posted, but then again, I’m based in the US. Lenora’s very elegant!

Hmmm, maybe the name is considered clunky or dated in Bosnia, or where you currently reside? I definitely wouldn’t call [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] cringey. It’s not as fresh as the other vintage comebacks in style, but it’s pretty and uncommon [name_f][/name_f]- it’s basically a rearranged [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] which is really popular in the Us right now.

To answer the question, I’m leaning vintagey princess for [name_f]Lenora[/name_f]! nn’s [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would be cute too

[name_f]My[/name_f] guess is that people are calling it cringey because they haven’t heard it before, and it does sound very princessy, so it strikes them as a possibly made-up name that’s trying to be pretty.

[name_f][/name_f]

I don’t personally find [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] cringey, though. I like it a lot. It’s soft and simple, elegant, relatively underused and seems versatile.

Doesn’t sound weird or old to me at all. I actually quite like it, although it feels a bit arbitrary in a sea of similar [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] -variants. I know of the fabric softener but didn’t think of it at all, probably because so many names are similar to it that it just sounds like a name and that’s it.

I love [name_f]Lenora[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] It’s unexpected, but also vintage and charming and so sweet. [name_f][/name_f] I would love to meet a [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] or a [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] I like both options but slightly prefer [name_f]Lenora[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] The nn [name_f]Leni[/name_f] is ridiculously cute, I adore her!

Good luck!

[name_f]Lenora[/name_f] is beautiful! To me, it’s almost musical sounding. I could see it being princessy, but it’s also very grounded and could suit so many kinds of people!

Definitely vintage princess! I did[name_f][/name_f] think of [name_f]Lenor[/name_f] fabric softener (I’m in the U.K.) but it’s not a deal breaker for me? It’s reminiscent of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f], etc which are familiar so it’s not like anyone would think only[name_f][/name_f] of the brand. I probably prefer [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] by a smidge because you have the option of [name_m]Leo[/name_m], which is so cool on a girl, but [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] is also very beautiful :swan::crown::ballet_shoes:

I think [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] is beautiful such an elegant name very charming and ethereal. I also love the nicknames [name_f]Leni[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f].

It fits that princess vibe to me. Both elegant and vintage, but it ticks all the boxes for a revival-ready name. I don’t find it clunky, and the potential nicknames are very nice.

I think it’s having a comeback, I would definitely say it’s more classy than cringey.

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] (she’s 2) and we always get compliments on her name. We had planned to call her [name_f]Nora[/name_f] for short, but there are 2 other Noras in her daycare class. She calls herself [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and we go between using [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] and [name_f]Leni[/name_f] at home. I do feel like it’s gotten more popular in the last few years, but we still love it! We chose it because we felt it was an elegant rarer vintage name. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
