I love the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and have a 4 year old with the name. I think the names themselves are lovely, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f]. But taken in fuller context - the repeated Y of your last name after [name_f]Honey[/name_f], for one thing, and the fact that the names could read as an adjective and noun - I would pick one of the two and find a different first or middle to go with it.
I like your idea of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]. It’s a stronger name, overall, so it avoids the chocolate-box princess vibe while still being both feminine and a good match for [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u].
You might also consider a strong yet feminine middle for [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f], or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. Or if you want something more unusual for a middle, maybe something like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Zorah[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f], or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Delaina[/name_f]. Or if you prefer one-syllable middles, or if you like word names, you could probably find something that doesn’t sound like a description: [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f].
Thank you! Funny you mentioned [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as that was an option I came up with early on but it was disliked by the only friend I shared it with and my mum on the grounds it sounded like I was abbreviating ‘luxury’ (ew!) and my husband on the grounds that it’s a brandname for a soap :(. If only everyone could know it actually means light in Latin
As for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], that’s really pretty too… but my recently estranged sister in law was called [name_f]Grace[/name_f] so I don’t think my husband’s brother and newly pregnant girlfriend would be very impressed haha.
I am glad you like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and think it a stronger name, irrespective of context. My only reservations with [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is that I much prefer it pronounced as spelt, as opposed to [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]… and I know no one else is going to make such a distinction! She’ll be called [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] anyway though so guess it wont matter so much. Other issue is my husband and I have been referring to my bump as [name_f]Violet[/name_f] in front of our son for the last month, so not sure if we can backtrack now…
I’m going to go ahead and make another poll now though with my new considerations – thanks for all your input everyone.
Neither - instead of chocolate box you get either weirdly coloured snow or some kind of lavender honey.
I don’t think pairing [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with a wordy middle name is wise, it’ll always sound more like a product than a name (faith, joy, etc are exceptions).
