Vivian Joy

Currently obsessed with the combo [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f].

But only for a boy! I know, I know, many would class this name as all girl. So, I’m looking for alternatives that give me this same “joyous” feeling, but are slightly less girly… [name_m]Can[/name_m] you help?

I love [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] on a boy and definitely prefer this combo on a boy too! However, I do agree that it reads rather feminine.

Perhaps you could try an alternative name meaning “happy”, e.g. …

  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Revel[/name_u] (“rejoice”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Simcha[/name_u] (“gladness, mirth, festivity”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Zelig[/name_u] (“blessed, happy”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Caius[/name_m] (“rejoice”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]/[name_m]Felicio[/name_m] (“happy, fortunate”)

Otherwise, here are a few names that give me a joyous feeling …

  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Jubal[/name_m] (sounds like “jubilant”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Merriwether[/name_m] (sounds like “merry”)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] (sounds like “sunny”, which could also work but feels more feminine)
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Sol[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] Somerled

Quirky nature names, such as [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m], also feel happy to me, although I’m not sure if that’s the case for you of course.

Nice to hear you like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] for a boy too

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Merriwether[/name_m]!

I know of a male [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] who is around age 30 now! [name_f]Joy[/name_f] feels very feminine to me, especially with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. I’d personally use a more decidedly masculine name with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u].

I actually have a friend who is a girl with this name combo so yes it reads purely female to me. Maybe [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] nn [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u]. And then maybe Jonathan/ Jonah/ etc so you could even have [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u] [name_u]Joe[/name_u]?

It feels very feminine to me as well. I really quite like these and you may as well…

[name_m]Vin[/name_m] (I think it can stand on its own depending on your last name)

I enjoy [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] on a boy, but i would personally want a slightly more masc name in the middle

A few ideas:

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Asher[/name_u]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Leo[/name_u]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]

[name_u]Or[/name_u] some other names which give me a joyous feel like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]:

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u] [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]

[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Julian[/name_u]?

Thanks so much for all the feedback and suggestions, I really appreciate it!

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] just doesn’t do it for me, unfortunately.

Looove [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] Don’t know that it entirely solves the problem though :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
