My husband and I are planning on having a second child. We were blessed with a baby boy who is now 15 months, [name]Kaidin[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Leon[/name]. The only issue is we cannot decide on a name.
I like:
[name]Vivica[/name]
Contessa
[name]Ashlynn[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Gabriella[/name]
Leighana
He likes:
[name]Hope[/name]
[name]Hailey[/name]
[name]Harlynn[/name]
He’s extremely picky, and I’m very stubborn. We both want something unique but somewhat common so people can correctly say/spell it.
I love Leighana! I have Leighann on my list, but be prepared to run into spelling problems, as I know I would as well. People won’t know if it’s Leighana/Leeana/[name]Leana[/name]/Leighanna/Leeanna/[name]Leigh[/name]-[name]Ana[/name]/[name]Lee[/name]-[name]Ana[/name]. It sounds like your styles aren’t TOO far apart. I’m surprised he doesn’t like [name]Ashlynn[/name] and Leighana from your list. You may find common ground in names that peaked a few years ago. Suggestions from all over the place:
[name]Alyssa[/name]
[name]Brenna[/name]
[name]Liane[/name] (lee-AWN-ee, suggesting this because of Leighana)
[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Vienna[/name]
[name]Halina[/name]
[name]Danica[/name]
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Aneska[/name]
i like [name]Vivica[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name].
What about [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Florence[/name], [name]Hester[/name], [name]Holly[/name], [name]Hyacinth[/name]?
Well, [name]Vivica[/name] [name]Hope[/name] struck me immediately because of the subject line, I think that’s a gorgeous combo!
Here are some suggestions that might be a middle ground for you two. You seem to favour long, feminine names, and he seems to favour short, spunky, boyish 80s/90s era names. [name]How[/name] do you feel about these?
[name]Leigh[/name], [name]Anya[/name], [name]Ainsley[/name]/[name]Ansley[/name], [name]Robin[/name], [name]Gabrielle[/name], [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Cadence[/name], [name]Aria[/name], [name]Ari[/name] (perhaps short for [name]Ariadne[/name], [name]Arianwen[/name], [name]Arielle[/name]), [name]Amity[/name], [name]Verity[/name].
I really agree with PP’s suggestion of [name]Holly[/name]. That seems like a nice middle ground for you two!
My favorites are:
[name]Vivica[/name]- Feminine, spicy, full of fun nickname possibilities.
[name]Hope[/name]- Classic, dignified, daringly simple.
[name]Aislin[/name] (only if spelled this way) Very sweet, but quite similar to [name]Kaidin[/name], whether you use the original Irish spelling, or the phonetic.
[name]Francesca[/name]- glorious name, but maybe mismatched with [name]Kaidin[/name].
I’m mixed on [name]Hailey[/name]. I like it spelled [name]Halley[/name], like the comet.
Dislike:
Contessa- Feels like naming your daughter Duchess or [name]Queen[/name] to me. Plus, I think of the Barefoot Contessa.
[name]Gabriella[/name]- For some reason, I associate this with bratty, gum-snapping [name]Long[/name] Island girls.
Leighana- “Cre8ive” spelling of [name]Liana[/name], right? Looks trendy/invented to me.
[name]Harlynn[/name]- Again, “cre8ive” feminized spelling of a masculine surname. I think you can do better.
Sorry to be harsh. :-/ [name]Just[/name] subjective opinions.
