Thanks for the votes so far! Please give feedback on my name ideas too if you have time

My favorite pair is [name_f]Elora[/name_f] & [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]

[name_f]Venetia[/name_f] is my top choice, it sounds great with [name_f]Elora[/name_f] but isn’t overly matching. I also like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].

I chose [name_f]Aviana[/name_f], but I also quite like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] with [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. Personally, I stear clear of sibling names that start with the same letter or have similar sounds (in this case, ‘el’).

I would also suggest [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] for consideration as a sister for [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. [name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Aviva[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Darcie[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f].

Whlist [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] are my favourites here, I’m not a fan of repeated initials in sibsets.

Ones with * I really like!

I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is the perfect match to [name_f]Elora[/name_f].
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] is pretty, my only hesitation with the name is that even though it’s pretty rare, other [name_f]El[/name_f] names are sooo very common that though she’d likely be the only [name_f]Elora[/name_f] in class she may be surrounded by an [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. It makes it seem a lot more common then it is. For better or worse, that’s your call.

I love [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. I voted for [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] would fit better as sisters to [name_f]Elora[/name_f] over [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is gorgeous & love [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] & [name_f]Aviana[/name_f] as sister names for her!

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] &

Wow thank you so much each and everyone of you! It’s very helpful and interesting to read your replies so keep them coming!

It’s nice to see all the names I chose with a number of votes. Makes me feel they are all likeable choices that most people wouldn’t find too weird or unusable.

I’m very surprised to see [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] in the lead! I’ve always loved that name ever since I created a [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] in my imagination as a child and wrote stories about her. But I never thought the name might be possible in the real world. But I’ve noticed more and more that different/unusual names are funnily enough becoming more common and acceptable.

So no-one here would find it weird to meet a little girl, a teenage or an adult “[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]”?

Thanks for your thoughtful reply! It has occurred to me too that “[name_f]El[/name_f]” names are popular and getting more popular. I can understand that as the syllable “[name_f]El[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]” is so pretty, flowy and feminine. It enhances any name it is a part of. In fact, I had already picked “[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]” years and years ago for my future daughter. At the time it was almost unheard of. Now I find it’s steadily climbing and getting more common. I do not want common names for my children so that was enough to send me looking for an “[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]” alternative. I gave up on [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], not without a few pangs.

I’ve researched [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. I think it’s on the rise but I guess it’s never going to be as common as [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or even [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. I think the fact that it’s heard of more these days than in the past makes it less “wierd” as a choice which is a positive thing. I’ve tried to find even more obscure “[name_f]El[/name_f]” names that I like, so I found [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] but I just like [name_f]Elora[/name_f] better. I think I’ll stick with it at this point. I just want to tell every expectant mother “[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t take my name! [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is MINE!” lol (joke)

I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is lovely with [name_f]Elora[/name_f]! In response to your question, I would be pleasantly surprised to meet a [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and would not find it weird in the least. I love the suggestions of [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and would like to add:

[name_f]Amoret[/name_f]
[name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Nayeli[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Elora[/name_f]! When I was younger, I had a friend with a little sister named [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. I think its stunning and sweet. It’s funny actually, when I saw the title of the post, my first thought was [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] (and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]!), but [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Elora[/name_f] are slightly too matchy to me (unless you like matchy names!) I know people on nameberry dont tend to like matchy sibling names, but I’ve met so many people in real life whose names were very similar to their siblings.

My favorite with [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]. I think they’d make the prettiest set of sisters. I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is uncommon enough, but not unfamiliar. I also just happen to think it’s a beautiful name on it’s own. I’d love to meet a [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] (I know everyone usually uses “Prim,” but my favorite nickname is [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]!!)

I also like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], and [name_f]Aviana[/name_f]. All beautiful choices that go nicely with [name_f]Elora[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Elora[/name_f]! It was in the running when my niece was born. My brother really wanted to use it, because of one of his favorite movies, [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. I think it’s such a sweet name.

Thanks for the beautiful and thoughtful name suggestions! It’s really wonderful to know that you and others wouldn’t think of “[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]” as anything other than a beautiful and unique name for a woman if you met one named that in real life.

I’ve been a huge fan of the movie “[name_f]Willow[/name_f]” since childhood too, and loved many of the names in that movie…[name_f]Willow[/name_f], Madmartigan, Sorsha, Cherlindrea, [name_f]Kaiya[/name_f]…

I agree, names shouldn’t actually rhyme with each other but I’m not totally against using “matchy” names for twins. I think [name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] are just dis-similar enough to work, but I think I would only go that route if I had twin girls, not sisters of different ages. [name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] could work for sisters of different ages.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] bumping to see if I can get any further feedback

I think with [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] & [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] work best (I am a big [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] fan myself). I think many of the other names (I adore [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]) are too L/[name_f]El[/name_f] heavy with [name_f]Elora[/name_f] for siblings.

I would rule out the following as they are too similar to [name_f]Elora[/name_f]:
[name_f]Arella[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

I voted for the following because I think they fit your brief of ‘pretty, classy, and unusual’:
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Venetia[/name_f]

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Venetia[/name_f]

Thank you [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] and [name_u]Jess[/name_u]! I have been thinking the same way as both of you…obviously the “el” in names make them more appealing to me, but if I had two names with an “el” feature, it would be too matchy.
