We’d like to honor my late mother-in-law with a middle name for our boy, but it’s hard to come up with one. Her name was [name_f]Linda[/name_f] and her maiden name is unfortunately unusable. We’ve settled on [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] for a first name. Any suggestions? Thanks!
The first option that comes to mind is [name_u]Linden[/name_u]. [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_u]Linden[/name_u] works to my ears, although it is a bit long.
If you would prefer a one-syllable middle name for [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m], what about [name_u]Lind[/name_u] or [name_f]Lin[/name_f]? [name_f]Lin[/name_f] can be masculine, especially paired with such a strongly masculine first name. [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_u]Lind[/name_u] or [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_f]Lin[/name_f]?
The other option is to look at the mean of the name. Since [name_f]Linda[/name_f] means “pretty,” you could consider any of these names that mean “handsome” 40 Names That Mean Handsome | Nameberry
I also thought [name_u]Linden[/name_u]. What about [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_u]Linden[/name_u]? Or [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_u]Linden[/name_u]?
There’s also:
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
Lindley
[name_u]Lindsey[/name_u]
[name_m]Lindell[/name_m]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]

[name_m]Linwood[/name_m]
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]

[name_m]Liam[/name_m]
[name_m]Link[/name_m]
[name_u]Linden[/name_u] is my favorite suggestion, but maybe you’ll like some of these too!
I definitely agree with the name [name_u]Linden[/name_u]! I love [name_u]Linden[/name_u] so much. It is name of a character in Wuthering Heights, [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_u]Linden[/name_u] sounds good, depending on the length of your last name.
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] has all of the letters of [name_f]Linda[/name_f] + an E!
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] sounds nice and is still a nod to [name_f]Linda[/name_f].
I would also use [name_u]Linden[/name_u].
I like @samosier24’s suggestion of [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]! It sounds better with [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] than [name_u]Linden[/name_u] does.
