A few people have pointed out that my family has names that start with A, C, D, and E (two parents and two children), so if we decide to have another child, it would be fun to consider a B- name to get all of the first 5 letters of the alphabet! It’s a fun idea, but I haven’t been too fond of most of the B- names I’ve come across. I like [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] for a boy, which would be a fun way to also get a [name_m]Bo[/name_m] nickname (since our last name is one-syllable, so Bo/Beau would sound very choppy with it as a standalone name).
disclaimer
And it really is just a fun idea that would be kinda cool if it worked out, but only if we absolutely loved a B- name we found. We are not set on it at all. Also, this isn’t something that we’d feel trapped in if we did a B- name for potential baby #3 and would feel like we’d have to do an F- name for a less-likely baby #4 or anything. Especially because my husband and I are the A & D, and our kids are C & E, so it’s really subtle since it’s separated between parents and children, and not in order.
I’m really fond of B- beginning names for family reasons. [name_f]My[/name_f] Grandad was called [name_m]Brian[/name_m] and I realised that I accidentally gave my son [name_m]Beck[/name_m] the same initial. It may be these associations with beloved (haha) family members only, or something else about B initials, but I find them such warm and cozy names. Because they are a rarer initial, they also feel like unearthed treasures when I find a new one!
Some I really like are:
[name_f]Briony[/name_f], [name_m]Bryer[/name_m]
[name_m]Brubeck[/name_m]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Bee[/name_f]
[name_f]Betsabé[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_f]Berenicia[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] sister is called [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] (again, I don’t think my parents meant this as a [name_m]Brian[/name_m] connection) so shout out to this one
[name_m]Brodie[/name_m]
[name_m]Beauden[/name_m]
[name_f]Bronagh[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Bree[/name_f]
[name_m]Bramwell[/name_m], Bramley
[name_m]Breccan[/name_m], [name_m]Beacan[/name_m]
[name_f]Bryn[/name_f] (like for a boy)
[name_f]Briseis[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernina[/name_f], [name_f]Bernita[/name_f]
If I remember later I’ll go through my favourited names list here on NB to find the ones that haven’t come to mind right now
I also wanted this theme ! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are A& C and our son’s name is D …. But every B name I liked my husband voted down
If you can make it work GO for it ! I think it’s cute to have a little tie.
[name_f]My[/name_f] ultimate favourite B names are

@Audreymb [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite b name for a boy is [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. In fact, it’s one of my favorite boys’ names of al time. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use it or n, so I love it for other people!
For girls, my favorites are [name_f]Billie[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f].
It’s tricky for me to find B names that feel right! [name_f]My[/name_f] current favorites (all girls) are [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], & Beila!
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] & [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] are 2 great B names for boys (also love Bo)
