Waverly Marit

I think it is pretty decided that [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] will be number three in our top three names. [name_f]Marit[/name_f] is the Norwegian and Swedish form of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. This will honor my mother-in-law and my late grandma. [name_f]My[/name_f] mother-in-law does not like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] at all, so I did not want to use that specifically. I did have [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] ([name_f]Margaret[/name_f] means [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]) on the list but liking [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] more.

[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] is lovely! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you found a combo you liked. Mine is [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] or [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], if you’re curious.

[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] sounds gorgeous - loving [name_f]Marit[/name_f]'s vibe.

Thank you, [name_f]Larissa[/name_f] and pacifica. [name_f]Larissa[/name_f], I love the sound and flow of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] gets me a little tongue tied.

I like the free-spirited, laid-back vibe of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f]. It feels subtly nature-y and watery- [name_u]WAVErly[/name_u] and [name_f]Marit[/name_f] being close to [name_f]Marina[/name_f]. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] seems a bit too unisex though, if I had to guess I’d guess girl but it could conceivably be a boy too. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] looks part nature name, part surname and both are used on boys and girls; while [name_f]Marit[/name_f] is a form of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] most English speakers won’t know that and it sounds the same as Merit(t) which is unisex. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Maren[/name_f] maybe? (though that’s still not very feminine)

I like that [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is nature-y also. It actually means “quaking aspen” and with Wave in the name. [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] sounding unisex is not an issue for us. We like that [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is very close to my late grandma’s surname and [name_f]Marit[/name_f] would also honor her and my mother-in-law. I do like Maron but it would take away the honoring and specialness that [name_f]Marit[/name_f] has.
