I’m looking for some opinions on the name [name]Waylon[/name]. I really like it, but I’m just wondering if it is usable or not. Thanks!
I like it a lot. The [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name] connection gives it a laid back, rugged feel for me. It was #374 on the Top 1000 for 2011, so I would say it’s definitely usable.
I actually know a [name]Waylon[/name]. He has an older brother [name]Walter[/name] and sister [name]Mia[/name]. He’s not a very nice or well behaved child so he’s sort of ruined the name for me, but I do think it has sort of a laid back, cowboy feel.
My first thought was of [name]Waylon[/name] Smithers from The Simpsons.
Hmm I’m not much of a Simpsons fan, so I’m not really sure if that is a huge issue. Anyone that actually watches the show thinks it would be an issue?
What does everyone think of the combo [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]?
I have grown to like [name]Waylon[/name] a lot! I didn’t used to love it, but after meeting a very adorable little [name]Waylon[/name], I’ve changed my mind. 
It does have a very cowboyish feel to it! [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] is nice. I think I’d pair it with something quite traditional or Biblical, personally–like [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] or [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Isaac[/name] or [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Edward[/name]…
I think it’s fine. I do think of [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name], even though I’m not familiar with his music! If you’re okay with that, I’d say go for it. I do prefer the variation [name]Wayland[/name]–which I didn’t know was [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name]’ original name till I read the Nameberry entry for [name]Waylon[/name].

My first thought was ‘…[name]Jennings[/name]’, even though I couldn’t name a single song of his! I think of a cowboy, or the name ‘[name]Wayne[/name]’ (which I loathe). So no, not a fan I’m afraid.
I love it! I think a baby named [name]Waylon[/name] would have to grow up to be awesome!
I know a baby boy born recently named [name]Waylon[/name] [name]George[/name], so I can totally see it on a child. I think it works!
I know a really nice, musical, artsy guy named [name]Waylon[/name]. I think the name totally works [name]IRL[/name].
I love the name [name]Rhys[/name]. I think [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Waylon[/name] would be a great name.
I’ve considered using it, though only because it is my maiden name, possibly as a middle. [name]One[/name] of my sisters really wants to use it but only has girls so far and she is a fan of the music of [name]Willie[/name] [name]Nelson[/name], [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name], etc. The nurse that delivered my son told me it was her brother’s name and I have met one other, but did not care for him much. I think it does have the western feel that is pretty popular right now but they would definitely hear the [name]Jennings[/name] reference a lot… I heard this all the time growing up and didn’t know who he was.
