Ways to get to Kat?

I am not a huge nickname person, but I love the nickname [name_f]Kat[/name_f]!

The problem is that the primary last name we would use ends in -ina, as do all of the [name_f]Kat[/name_f] names we like! He likes [name_f]Katerina[/name_f], and I am partial to [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] (although I don’t know if I could actually use it given the horrible destruction of the hurricane).

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would work, but [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], although lovely, feels odd next to the other very Spanish-inspired names we like like [name_f]Esperanza[/name_f] and [name_f]Alba[/name_f] and [name_f]Paola[/name_f]. We would need a name that sounds similar in Spanish for sure, and ideally Portuguese as well.

I have thought of [name_f]Katia[/name_f], but I am not totally convinced.

Any ideas how to get to [name_f]Kat[/name_f] in a way that doesn’t end in -ina and works in Spanish?

What about [name_u]Cataleya[/name_u]? Like the flower. There’s no a lot of spanish names that begins with [name_f]Kat[/name_f]-

Some of these might be a stretch and have [name_f]Cat[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Kat[/name_f] but:

Carlota/Karlota
Constantia
Jacinta

[name_f]Katya[/name_f]
[name_f]Katchen[/name_f]
[name_f]Kateri[/name_f]
