Hello! I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on names that would lead to the nickname [name]Lexi[/name], other than [name]Alexis[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name]! I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lexi[/name], just not a huge fan of either of those longer forms! Your help and creativity would be much appreciated! Thank you! ![]()
Why not just call her [name]Lexi[/name] then? Seems pointless giving her a longer first name that you dont even really like if the name you really love and all you are ever going to call her is [name]Lexi[/name] IMHO.
I know someone with a little girl names [name]Lexie[/name]-[name]Grace[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] which I think is very cute and beautiful! And they just call her [name]Lexie[/name] all the time…
My best friend throughout childhood was named [name]Lexie[/name]! It’s a beautiful name all on its own.
That was the original plan! Then my mom said that [name]Lexi[/name] wouldn’t work well when she’s older! She said [name]Lexi[/name] sounded more like a little girls nickname, not something she would want to go by as an adult! I really like the spelling [name]Lexie[/name] though! It makes it seem like more of a full name and less of a nickname!
[name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Alessia[/name]
[name]Alexandria[/name]
[name]Alessa[/name]
Or just [name]Lexie[/name]
I’ve always loved the name [name]Lexi[/name], although I perfer it spelled [name]Lexie[/name]. I’m not a big fan of [name]Alexis[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name] either so I have always liked to use [name]Alexia[/name] to get the nickname [name]Lexi[/name]!
I agree with the user christmaspudding. If you like the name [name]Lexi[/name] so much just name her [name]Lexi[/name]. I would suggest spelling it [name]Lexie[/name] though.
I agree with your mother. [name]Lexie[/name] is cute - but way to cute for an adult. Your child will grow up and spend the majority of their life as an adult, [name]Lexie[/name] sounds like a child’s name, not the name of a professional career woman. [name]Alexa[/name], [name]Alessia[/name], [name]Alessandra[/name], [name]Alexandrine[/name], Alexana…all are way more adult and will last your daughter through her entire life, not just the few short ones at the beginning.
I think [name]Lexi[/name] is fine on it’s own. Since when does age matter? A name is a name… I think people over think names sometimes…
[name]Alexa[/name]
Alexiana
[name]Alexa[/name]-[name]Anne[/name]
??
– [name]Stephanie[/name]
You could always use [name]Lexi/name as a middle name and have her go by that…
[name]Alexia[/name] is my favourite way to get [name]Lexi[/name], I love that she can go by [name]Lexia[/name] too.
Or [name]Alexandrie[/name], the rare french form.
That would at least give her the opportunity to put something semi-professional on her resume.
I also knew a girl who was named [name]Alexi[/name].
[name]How[/name] about Alexyn, Alexynn, Alexcin
Can I just say that my mom said the same thing about “[name]Ella[/name]” (“she needed a formal adult name”) so my daughter is [name]Gabriella[/name], but called [name]Ella[/name] 99% of the time (unless we’re at the Dr. Lol!). I like [name]Gabriella[/name], but wished I would have named her [name]Ella[/name], because I absolutely adore it. Now I’m pregnant with girl #2 and I really feel she should have a longer name, like her sister (Dh and I are talking about “[name]Alexandra[/name]” nn [name]Lexie[/name]!!
), but if I had to do it over again, my [name]Ella[/name] would just be [name]Ella[/name]. [name]Just[/name] a thought!
I know an adult [name]Lexi[/name] and I don’t think anyone thinks of her as unprofessional or childish… that argument is just silly to me really! I agree with others, if you like [name]Lexi[/name] then use it! No need to stick her with a longer name that you don’t really like just for the sake of her resume…
[name]Just[/name] for the sake of a resume? It’s kind of a huge deal, not something that should be taken lightly at all. That’s their future.
And I’m sure no one thinks your friend is childish - but her name DOES sound juvenile, not like an adult woman at all. Dr. [name]Lexie[/name]? Come on, it sounds like something from the adult film industry.
Omg, seriously? No on is going to not hire you just because of your name. I think this is an insult to the people named [name]Lexi[/name]/[name]Lexie[/name]. It’s ridiculous.
[name]Ah[/name] - yes, it happens ALL the time. Mind you a lot of it is racism based, but ask anyone in the field of HR, it happens and it happens A LOT. [name]One[/name] of my professors in college worked as an HR manager for a large medical firm, but in previous jobs, he had been told to disregard certain resumes if the names were “weird” or “silly” or spelled funky.
I’m not saying it’s right by any means but to think that it doesn’t happen is just ignorance. When it comes down to it, your going to come up against someone with comparable credentials and a deciding factor when deciding who to give a call back to often comes down to something as petty as a name. Sad, but completely true.
