I am LOVING the name [name]Lockie[/name] and need help to figure out how to get to it.
There is a local artist in our area named Lauchie, my boyfriend has met him a couple times and told me his name and I fell in love with it. The only way I can think of to get to it is [name]Lachlan[/name] & although I find [name]Lachlan[/name] to be a nice name I don’t love it. I’m used to hearing “McLachlan” so when I say it it feels like it’s missing the Mc infront of it.
The only other things I can come up with are:
[name]Loki[/name]
[name]Locke[/name]
Lauchie
Can you guys come up with anything else?
Also what do you think of the name Lauchie in general?
I like [name]Locke[/name] much more than Lauchie/[name]Lockie[/name], personally. [name]Lockie[/name]/Lauchie seems overly cutesy–I can’t imagine it working for someone over the age of about 5. Also, I would have never said Lauchie as [name]LOCK[/name]-ee; I would have said [name]LAW[/name]-chee instead.
I think [name]Lachlan[/name] is great; I really don’t think of the surname [name]McLaughlin[/name] at all. But if it bothers you, I think just [name]Locke[/name] is fabulous.
I think [name]Locke[/name] could grow on me, sometimes I like [name]Lachlan[/name] sometimes I’m not so sure. I can see where you’re coming from with the cutesyness, that’s why I’m hoping to find a more formal name. I just want to make sure I love it just as much as the nick name. My boyfriends name is [name]Chance[/name] and sometimes me & other people call him [name]Chancey[/name] so I guess I’m used to cute nicknames. My boyfriend pronounced it [name]Lock[/name]-ie but maybe he had heard wrong, I could maybe see it being law-kee also maybe?. Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for the feedback not a fan of [name]Sherlock[/name] though!
Lockley, lochsely (lock-sly). I agree with [name]Locke[/name] and [name]Lachlan[/name] are nice Lauchie (law-chie) and [name]Lockie[/name] are not very nice. You might as well use [name]Loki[/name].
thanks for the suggestions everyone, I think it’s probably between [name]Locke[/name] and [name]Lachlan[/name], which do you guys like better? Those from [name]Canada[/name] have you ever met anyone with either of these names and do you think people would mispronounce them often?
I’m from [name]Canada[/name] and have met several [name]Lachlan[/name]'s lately…I think it’s becoming more popular. We’re talking about going with Lockley/Lochley for our baby - it’s a Scottish sound that we like, but I’d rather spell it [name]Locke[/name] than [name]Loch[/name]…that said, I’ve never met a Canadian [name]Locke[/name] and only met one from the States! A common nickname in Australia would be Lochie for [name]Lachlan[/name]…
