[name_f]Afton[/name_f]
&
[name_u]Halsey[/name_u]
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] sounds all boy to me, although it shows pink on here. [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] I can see going either way.
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] feels more girl leaning only because that’s the only way I’ve seen it used here on NB and I wasn’t familiar with it before. [name_m]Just[/name_m] by looking at it, though, it looks more masculine.
[name_u]Halsey[/name_u], though there is a female singer with this name, feels surprisingly masculine to me.
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] seems to be strictly female from what I see.
Also [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] is an invented stage name for the singer (born [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]), so it could go either way but since it’s solely connected to her right now (and likely will be for at least a few more years) I’d use it on a girl.
If it wasn’t shown pink I would say [name_f]Afton[/name_f] was male name. [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] though is pretty unisex, even feminine for me.
Both are very masculine, imo.
[name_u]Halsey[/name_u] sounds like a nn for [name_m]Harold[/name_m].
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] is very androgynous. [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] just makes me think of the singer.
Both are girl names imo, though [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] could work on a boy too.
Both seem more female to me. [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] has the singer connection and reminds me of the name [name_u]Haley[/name_u]. [name_f]Afton[/name_f] has potential to go either way but I have only seen it used for a girl.
I’ve always thought of [name_f]Afton[/name_f] as a boy name, even if it’s pink on here. I read a book a long time ago where a minor character’s husband (only mentioned) is called [name_f]Afton[/name_f]. It works for either, though, obviously.
[name_u]Halsey[/name_u]… Either.
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] sounds all boy to me. I’ve never heard of [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] (or the singer) but it feels feminine to me, due to its similarity to [name_u]Haley[/name_u], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and similar names that are mostly/all girl.
Both [name_f]Afton[/name_f] and [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] seem male to me, although a female [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] or [name_f]Afton[/name_f] wouldn’t feel that odd.
Both unisex, but neither are my style
I see both as more feminine names, though [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] could be either
[name_f]Afton[/name_f] to me sounds very masculine, and [name_u]Halsey[/name_u] is my favorite singer so to me it’s feminine and I can only imagine it on a girl.
If you’re looking for something similar, there’s [name_u]Halley[/name_u], after [name_m]Edmond[/name_m] [name_u]Halley[/name_u]. To me it sounds more masculine than [name_u]Halsey[/name_u].
