[name_m]Just[/name_m] after some honest opinions,
for the past 3 years I’ve had the combo [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] at the top of my list.
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is a literary reference from one of my favorite novels ‘Picnic At Hanging [name_m]Rock[/name_m]’,
and even though I’ve tried to talk myself out of it, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] has been at the top for 10 years now and is very sentimental to me.
It’s definitely not my style, but I have always had a sweet spot for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] There was a [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] in my choir and she had an absolutely amazing voice! She was extremely sweet and well rounded as well! The only thing that I don’t particularly like is all the flowers! Having [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in one name would be too much for me personally
Thanks hiccups!
Yeah I know what you mean about the florals, I tend to drift towards them…
I like to go with the meaning of ‘horse protection’ for [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] as apposed to ‘rose of the world’.
I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] when paired with older names, which [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is to me. (I have [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] on my long list.) [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a childhood GP of mine. But now, when I’m actually facing putting a name on a tiny human that will grow into her own person, I find it lacking the appropriate seriousness as a first name. I still love it in theory. If you can get past this issue, I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is lovely.
Thanks fanciful, I definitely like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] paired with older or stronger names too, and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is gorgeous
I know what you mean about the name seeming to lack appropriate seriousness as a first name and I’ve thought about it! It’s not really an issue with me though, I think it suits me and my hubby just fine
I REALLY like both of these names, but the floral (at least the floral-sounding) combination is slightly overwhelming for me. Would you consider a formal name for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]? Like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]?
Hi dotdraper,
Thanks for the suggestion of Margaret! The thing is, I live in Japan and the pronunciation of Margaret versus Daisy is more troublesome, also, if her name was Margaret here, no one would ever shorten it to Daisy, it would become something like Mahgo (sorta like Margo) and I really don’t like Margo, or just Ma and I don’t like that at all.
I am really floral, I know it’s not everyones cup of tea
I like both names but I always worry about how [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] will age as the person does. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is awesome from ages birth to like… 22 years old and then maybe 60 years old and over, but it’s those years when [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is mid-twenties to late 50’s where it could be too cutesy?
