WDYT of Atticus?

Um…I’ll be honest here…I haven’t actually read that book. I’ve heard of it, but…I was home schooled during high school, so it wasn’t required for me - haha  I do understand what you are saying though…but I’m not sure that it makes me dislike it enough to cross it off the list. Thank you for the opinions!

I absolutely love the name, and although I don’t think I’d be bold enough to use it as a fn, it is definitely staying on my list of mn’s. I can’t stand when people say that they don’t like the name because it seems “snobby” or that you’re trying too hard to use a literary reference. I’m a huge reader and a writer, and I have read thousands of books. TKAM is one of my favorite books that I’ve ever read, I read it in high school, and I just re-read it this year (I’m 25 years old). [name]IMO[/name], [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Finch[/name] is one of the greatest literary characters ever, and I don’t think it’s snobby to name a child after him. I wish I knew people in real life as great as him! So I’d say, go for it, and I’m glad you’re not taking it off the list just because people are so negative about the book and its association with the name.
