I’ve loved [name_u]Ever[/name_u] for years even though I heard it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Well, I’m not going to name human babies [name_u]Ever[/name_u] but would consider as an MN. Also as a character in my story. I just wanted to hear people’s opinion about this name. Thanks~^^
I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is charming. I also like [name_u]Echo[/name_u].
I think it would be a good nn for [name_m]Everard[/name_m] and derivatives. By itself, it seems like something Puritans would pair with a virtue name like [name_u]Ever[/name_u] Silent or [name_u]Ever[/name_u] Hatevil.
You’ve loved [name_u]Ever[/name_u], forever, and ever, [name_m]Amen[/name_m]…it’s an adverb, not a name.
I think it works perfectly fine as a name! Word names are in (and this is a pretty positive one), Ev- names are in, short and spunky names are in, -er names are in… it basically ticks all the boxes for a modern hit, yet it’s still currently quite unusual. I think it has a pleasant sound and a cool feel; my only concern would be that it may date if it gets too popular. But I do like it.
It’s just not my thing; a word name I could never warm to.
But I think as a middle name it could work!
I love it! I really do. I think it’d make a great middle name.
I love it but probably only as a middle or a nickname. It works as a unisex name too as it feels strong but still sweet.
I like it as a nn for [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and I’m sure there’s more!
@thefairophelia Ooh [name_u]Echo[/name_u] is cute! But"[name_u]Echo[/name_u] Bag"s are popular here in Korea so people would think that if i say [name_u]Echo[/name_u]…
@electric_sheep I’ve never heard of [name_m]Everard[/name_m]! Interesting name!
@susette I guess many people think like that haha That’s why I’m considering it for a MN or a character name.
@katinka Thanks for the kind response!
@lamantchenille Yeah so I’m thinking for FNs. Btw love your [name_f]Amabel[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]!
@indilee [name_f]Glad[/name_f] people think it could work for a MN. Also really like your [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] - so handsome.
@wildmoonchild [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is cute! I have that in my list.
Thanks everyone for the responses! I appreciate them.
I’m not a huge fan of it, at this point. When I first heard it used as a name, I thought “well, that’s different.” Literally, that was my only comment on it, then I moved on. I later on thought it was cute, for a millisecond one day, but I can count a couple of handfuls of little girls I actually know, born within the last year, who are named [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] (or [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f], Everlee, etc). I sort of groan when I hear it being used now.
As a middle name, I could see it working. It would take a special first name to go well with it, but it could work. I also think that I would rather see the name used on a character than a real human.
I think it’s nice. Not my style, but really pretty.
@namergirl3 Thanks for the popularity comment! It’s really hard for me to guess the growing popularity since I’m surrounded with Korean names… But I’m kinda sad that it’s popularㅠㅠ
@boyandgirl Thank you!
Personally, living in Yorkshire (UK) it’s rare for my name to be pronounced correctly ([name_f]Heather[/name_f]). Instead it sounds like [name_u]Ever[/name_u] which would always come to mind when I hear this name.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. I do prefer it as a nn for [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Every[/name_f] but it does work on its own.
I’m not a big fan of the name [name_u]Ever[/name_u] for a baby, but I definitely think it works as a middle name or book character.
I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is a fantastic name, totally worth using on a human.
I like it (and have lived it for a long time, just like you!). I think it’s 100% usable as a MN for a real person or FN for a character.
