Hello Berries! A while back you help me and DH decide our second daughter middle name. We decided [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] to go with big sister [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. Last week, in a conversation, DH brought the name [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] (guy-uh) to the table, which I have to say, I love!
What do you think about the name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think we should change our pick?
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is not something I’ve heard before. I like the name [name_f]Kaiya[/name_f], but I’m not sure [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is my personal taste. It’s really cool that you found a name that’s different, though. =]
Personal bias aide, I don’t think that [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] really goes well with your other girls’ names, which have more of a classy feel. [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] seems more inventive and modern, maybe even a bit multi-cultural.
I love [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] in spirit, and I think it makes an awesome middle name: it’s a really big, significant name that I’d hesitate to give a child as a first name, but as a middle name it’s like a secret weapon. That said, I prefer the flow of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]. The two names play off each other so beautifully! Still, I’d be happy to see a little [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] out in the world.
Apologies if this complicates things further, but you might also like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Galatea[/name_f]!
I quite like [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], but I have always heard it pronounced “gee-ah”, and some how that sounds nicer in my head than “guy-uh”… I don’t know. But that is a minor issue. I really love the name.
However, I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] works better, and sounds nicer together.
Maybe keep [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] as a choice for the next baby…
Wait, now I’m confused. At first I thought [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] was being considered for a possible future baby, but now I think you want it as a middle for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
If the latter is the case, I still have the same opinion that I did in my first post, haha.
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is fine but I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]. Also, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] than [name_f]Gaia[/name_f].
Is this for a middle for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or just on its own? I think [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is a wonderful name! I love it! It’d be a great first name (I personally wouldn’t pair it with [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] though). I think it sounds fine with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] too, but I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] fits better with your daughter’s name.
