WDYT of Hugo?

I have been searching for more boys names to add to my top boys name list but so far haven’t come across any names I love until just recently when I was reading something about [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] and unexpectedly fell in love with the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

I am not sure it fits to well with my other boys names or if I should put it on my GP list. I was wondering what others thought about [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]? I do love the meaning which is, “mind, intellect”.

It’s one of my personal favorites. I am hoping whomever I get married to will like it , cause if I get a little boy, it’s gonna be a [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. Or an [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I like 4 letter names for boys. Go figure.

I love the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]!! It’s a shame my husband doesn’t approve.

I love it! Gorgeous meaning too. I may have a wee [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] one day. [name_m]Hughie[/name_m] (Cuuute) when he is small-then [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] when he is older.

It’s great! There are so many things to love about [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]: it’s familiar, but uncommon; easy to spell and pronounce; feels strong and fun at the same time and the meaning is awesome. I think you should put it on your main list, it goes well with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], especially with the nickname [name_m]Hughie[/name_m]/[name_m]Huey[/name_m]. I can imagine [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] as a brother to both [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

I never thought much of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] until I saw the film ‘[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]’ , now I have a soft spot for it.
I think the name suits people of all ages, and is uncommon but familiar. Great meaning too.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]'s great! I find it hard to imagine what a little [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] would be like, but it’s such a charming, quirky, timeless, international name. I’d love to meet a little [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and I agree–[name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] would be great for brothers!

Good luck!

It has a pleasant, breathy feel to it,and the meaning is awesome.Never met anyone with, and I’m from [name_f]Louisiana[/name_f].Breathy names rule there.

I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] a lot. For me it is very British and classic.

I love it. I think it sounds intriguing and romantic, and also has an international feel.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] has really started to grow on me. I’m not sure If i would use it myself, but I would love to see a little boy named [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. It’s a sweet and underused name that I think will age well.

I do love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] paired with it! Thanks for all the wonderful replies!

I love the thought of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and the pronunciation I’m used to with the H not being silent (Who-goh).
I find the English U-go very unpleasant sounding as it reminds me too much of [name_m]Hugh[/name_m], which I don’t view as a pretty name.

I love it! If it didn’t sound so foolish with [name_u]Theo[/name_u] (our first sons name) it’d be on my short list!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]! I actually fell in love with it through [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] as well! It was on my list too but didn’t sound right with our first son’s name. But I love love love that!
