WDYT of Mettin?

There’s a YouTuber whose Dutch/Austrian boyfriend’s name is Mettin. I know it’s not the usual Nameberry style, but what do you ladies think of it?

I’ve never heard of it before, but it’s relatively easy to say and spell, which I like. I would probably prefer it as a middle name, but it’s an interesting choice.

When I say it, it sounds like mitten.

This. Because it sounds like the word mitten, it’s not a name I can get behind.

Interesting! I never even made that connection! I’d say 60-70% of the time, he just goes by Mett, which I associated with the museum in NYC and the Met Ball (I’m American). But Mettin does sound like mitten. I wonder with the past election, if his nickname ever gets confused for [name_m]Mitt[/name_m], “Like [name_m]Mitt[/name_m] [name_u]Romney[/name_u]?”
