WDYT of Odele and Odelle?

I came across the names [name_f]Odele[/name_f] and [name_f]Odelle[/name_f] today and I think I might be in love. Am I missing some obvious terrible reference? What do you think if these options for a third girl?

My only association is NFL wide receiver [name_u]Odell[/name_u] [name_m]Beckham[/name_m], [name_m]Jr[/name_m]. — not the same name, but similar pronunciation. That might be too much for me, but despite that I think [name_f]Odele[/name_f] is a sweet, whimsical alternative to [name_f]Adele[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning, too.

(And since you’re a “mum” I’m guessing you may not be in the U.S., so the [name_u]Odell[/name_u] association may not be an issue at all!)

I have only heard of a male [name_f]Odele[/name_f] (again, a football player and not sure how he spells it) so I prefer [name_f]Adele[/name_f]. It feels more feminine.

I can’t think of any terrible association. It’s an okay name for me. Nice but nms. It’s like a smoosh between [name_f]Adele[/name_f] and [name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Odile[/name_f]. I thought it’s a variant of [name_f]Odile[/name_f] but according to nameberry database it’s not. I love its meaning “song”.

I knew a very sweet old lady named [name_f]Odele[/name_f] (well, actually I’m not sure of the spelling she used). And I know of people with [name_u]Odell[/name_u] or and O’[name_u]Dell[/name_u] as a last name.

I don’t think there is really a bad association with it other than it can sound masculine or be known as a last name. But it could be cute on a little girl today!

For me, [name_f]Odele[/name_f]/[name_f]Odelle[/name_f] sounds like a last name or a first name for a boy as I’ve only ever heard it in those contexts. I prefer [name_f]Odette[/name_f], honestly, but that’s just me. If you love it, go for it.

I rather love the sound and meaning! I think it would be a great option to consider.
