WDYT of Sparrow?

I’m 31 weeks with baby girl #3, and we’ve tried out a lot of names and found a lot of nice names that just don’t seem “right” or we don’t both equally love. This morning I brought up [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] and DH immediately loved it. It has a very sentimental/ emotional meaning to both of us. Is it too out there?

We were thinking of [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or possibly [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], so that she isn’t stuck with a crazy name and has the traditional [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and its multitude of nicknames to fall back on if she doesn’t like it. Also considering either one potentially with nn “[name_f]Birdie[/name_f].” [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is also a family name, and both of our other girls have a family name and a name that is “theirs.” My middle daughter was named [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] when it had just barely entered the top 1000, and we got a lot of strange looks at the time… We similarly gave her a classic family middle ([name_f]Ann[/name_f]) in case she wanted something more mainstream when she was older, so it fits that pattern too.

Thoughts on [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] vs neither? Am I nuts?

I like the name [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] alot, but I also love Sorren. I would pick [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] because that just sounds like your naming a pet sparrow [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

[name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has a better flow to the sound.

If you love it, go for it.

I happen to think [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] has a somewhat dark feel to it, but maybe that’s just me.

I agree with the poster above me, it feels dark to me as well. Especially with sisters [name_f]Isla[/name_f] & [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], which are so pretty and feminine.

I think [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is so cute/sweet. I’m not a word name person but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] when names have special meaning for the parents.

I absolutely love [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]! [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizebeth[/name_f] sounds better to me, but I don’t really like the idea of [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a
nickname. I don’t think it sounds dark at all. I picture springtime, and birds chirping in the trees.

I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] sounds better than [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

[name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] is very cool! Sweet, fun, and very unexpected. I think [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a lovely combo which balances the “out there”-ness of [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] really well.

It’s nice that [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] has special meaning for you, too. I’d definitely be a bit surprised to hear that [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]’s sister was [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] — they’re both a lot more conventionally feminine, not to mention a lot more established as names — but there’s nothing wrong with an eclectic sibset.

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is very sweet, and has the same quirky retro feel that your other girls’ names — especially [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] — have. Would you consider [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a full name? Or maybe even [name_f]Bridie[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], and [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]! I love seeing a family’s style grow more daring, and there’s nothing wrong with a family of eclectic names.

It is one of my guilty pleasure names but I don’t think I’d ever actually use it

I love it. Such a beautiful name and I love the way you’ve chosen solid classics as a middle name option.
Maybe [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] if you’re looking for suggestions:)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] would be something on my own list.
Great choice

Ooh, now [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] is gorgeous!
