I really like the Shakespearian reference. Also that it sounds like the word “ardent.” Her older sister’s name is [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. Thanks!!
It just makes me think ‘harden’, especially because with my accent we miss out letter’s like t’s and h’s a lot. I would say harden as 'arden. I also think with a sister with a name as pretty as [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] most people would assume [name_u]Arden[/name_u] was a boy.
I like it! What middle(s) would you consider?
If you want a name that’s not so masculine-sounding you might want to consider Garden instead.
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] is definitely one of my favourite girls names. There are a lot of references (like the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] one) that appeal to me, and I like how it could be a girls or boys name without appearing to lean one way or the other (though personally, I definitely prefer it for a girl). I think it’s truly a wearable name.
And I think it goes brilliantly with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. They give a similar kind of vibe.
I think it’s cool in that unique but not too out there way, and also it is vintage which is very much in style. I had a great aunt [name_u]Arden[/name_u] who would be around 90 now.
I know that conventional tradition categorizes [name_u]Arden[/name_u] as a boy’s name but it sounds like a girls name to me. It reminds of garden, and ardent. Maybe it’s because I am in the U.S. but I cannot imagine anything but a girl with this lovely name (it’s one of my current favorites for a girl)
I love [name_u]Arden[/name_u] I think it’s strong but still has a girly romantic quality with it’s similarity to ‘ardent’. That being said I find [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] & [name_u]Arden[/name_u] to be a little of an odd pairing, but I’m a big believer of if you love it, go with it
I really like it. It’s a girly name to me. I can’t see it on a boy. Theres a sweet baby at my church named [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. I had [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] on my list.
It’s not intuitive for me to put it with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] but I think it could work.
For middles I like [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]… I haven’t thought too much about it yet. There will be 2 middle names, though.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] often goes by [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] if that helps?
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] is a favorite for both genders but it still feels masculine. I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] & [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] are mismatched for sisters. If you really want [name_u]Arden[/name_u] then the mn [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] would be best. Your daughter’s name is elaborate and “ethnic” while [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are not so they pale in comparison ([name_f]Violette[/name_f] or [name_f]Clarisse[/name_f] would work).
I used to like it for a girl. But recently at a theme park I saw a mother call her four/five year old daughter [name_u]Arden[/name_u], and I decided against it. It didn’t fit the little girl, and… I dunno I guess it didn’t sound so pleasant when I heard it in real life. It’s just very harsh sounding to me, I suppose.
I’m not a fan of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] for a girl. It sounds quite masculine in my opinion.
I love [name_u]Arden[/name_u] on a girl and I couldn’t picture it on a boy at all even though it’s unisex. I prefer the spelling [name_f]Ardyn[/name_f] though. It makes it look more feminine.
I really like it! A friend of a friend is a woman called [name_u]Arden[/name_u], and she’s very cool and it works very well on her. I also think of the [name_m]Forest[/name_m] of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] in As You Like It right away.
It’s a (male) family name for me, but I do like the name quite a bit.
I like it much more for a boy
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] is a family name on my father’s side. To me it’s a one hundred percent boy. Within states is the only place this is considered a “girl” name.
I will just be sick to my stomach if I can’t use my family name because of some gender bending trend.
That being said, I do like your middle name choices. And while I detest all the “son” ending names for girls… [name_u]Arden[/name_u] reminds me of those. So I’m sure others would find it acceptable.
I really like [name_u]Arden[/name_u]. It has the Shakespearian connection, but also feels very modern and fresh. I love it with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].
I don’t mind the name [name_u]Arden[/name_u] for either gender. However, [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is little too boyish next to the frilly and feminine [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] more suitable for girl/boy siblings rather than two sisters. Perhaps [name_u]Arden[/name_u] would be better in the middle spot. There are plenty of Shakespearean names that work better with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] ([name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Paulina[/name_f], [name_f]Katharina[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] etc…).
