What is your opinion of this name?
Itās okay but āguyā is such a common term for a person that it feels a bit odd as name
I know a couple of young Guys, it seems to be reasonably popular where I live despite low popularity nationally (rural England).
Personally, I donāt mind the sound of it but I do find it a bit bland and generic, for the same reason as @Greyblue. I just think there are so many fantastic boy names out there that to call your son a name that sounds just like the word for āperson/manā is a bit of a shame.
I do really like the variant [name_m]Guido[/name_m], as in Guy/Guido Fawkes, but that comes with its own problems as itās been used in the US as an ethnic slur.
I think itās adorable! Came across a mom on Instagram who has a little boy named [name_m]Guy[/name_m] & it was so sweet on an actually kid
I have always had a soft spot for [name_m]Guy[/name_m]. I think it is very handsome. However, I donāt like the french pronunciation as much. Where I grew up there were a few french speaking people with the name [name_m]Guy[/name_m] who put me off it.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Super cool!
I wouldnāt name my son this, but I donāt hate it as a name. I only know one Guy ā he is French and pronounces it the French way, like the word āgeeseā in English without the s. I like it like that best!
I love it! its a bit of a gp but its a great middle I think!
Its a fun/funny name but thereās nothing wrong with it!
Itās okay-- I really only like the [name_u]French[/name_u] pronunciation, and I agree that itās better as a middle.
I love [name_m]Guy[/name_m]. I find it rather romantic sounding! That probably dates back to the first time I watched That Thing You [name_f]Do[/name_f], which features the pretty adorable [name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Patterson[/name_m]
I know a little [name_m]Guy[/name_m] and an older [name_m]Guy[/name_m] and would love to hear if more
Itās too common as a word for a random man/person in the US.
