Xena is a girl’s name of Greek origin, meaning “guest,” “hospitable,” and/or “stranger.” It’s pronounced Zee-Nuh.
Thoughts on it? Is it unusable because of Xena: Warrior Princess?

I think it’s an alright name. It’s definitely useable, but I tend to think of xenophobia.
I was a little kid when [name_f]Xena[/name_f] was on TV, but even so, that’s the first thing I think of when I hear it.
I think that association may stick out to the parents of your child’s peers, but I’m not sure anyone your future child’s age would get that reference - unless the franchise is rebooted, which is a possibility.
[name_f]Xena[/name_f] is pretty and kind of celestial. But as @halinka suggests, it does have negative sounds
I’m in [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_u]Zealand[/name_u], so it’s definitely too strongly associated with [name_f]Xena[/name_f] [name_u]Warrior[/name_u] [name_f]Princess[/name_f] here. I like the name though, but slightly prefer [name_f]Xenia[/name_f].
I think it’s cool! It’s unavoidably associated with the warrior princess, but not to the degree that it’s unwearable. I like a strong namesake, especially in a girl’s name.
I have met a little [name_f]Zena[/name_f] pronounced the same way, in case you want to put a little distance before the association. [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] is also a lovely variation as suggested above.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the eye-catching X initial!
I like the daring style of any female name beginning with x but like another poster said unfortunately [name_f]Xena[/name_f] and also [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] remind me too much of xenophobia - not a great connotation to say the least. The sound itself is pretty and catching though and the origin is an awesome one to have for a name…
What would you think of the sound alike [name_f]Zena[/name_f]? [name_m]Can[/name_m] also be spelled [name_f]Zeena[/name_f] and even [name_f]Zina[/name_f] if I’m not mistaken. This still delivers an uncommon look but has a far less offensive connotation paired to it.
Xena’s one of my favourite names. I love the strong, fierce, fiery vibe, but it’s down to earth, intelligent and thoughtful too. Definitely familiar, but not popular, and just generally super cool!
Personally the show and character are a big plus for me, but somewhat unavoidable. I like to think that association might lessen the xenophobia connection.
I think of the TV show from the 90s. Not a bad association, in my view - she was a cool character. Xenophobia didn’t cross my mind. I like [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] too.
One thing you might want to be aware of, especially if you have Muslim family, is that in [name_m]Islam[/name_m] “zina” (pronounced similarly) is a term meaning “extra-marital sex”.
