WDYT of the nn Lolly?

First, WDYT of [name]Lolly[/name] as a nn in general?

Second, WDYT of [name]Lolly[/name] as a nn for my baby, [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name]? I adore [name]Liv[/name] as a nn but have been searching something a little lighter and fun for her because she is such a happy, lively baby and I don’t care for [name]Livie[/name]. I tried saying [name]Ollie[/name] but I just know of too many [name]Oliver[/name]'s with the nn for me to love it on my sweet girl. I do love [name]Ollie[/name] [name]Lu[/name] but it seems to be a mouthful for most people and the [name]Lu[/name] keeps getting cut off by everyone but me. Then the other day I said [name]Lolly[/name] on accident and after it came out I thought it sounded so cute. Am i right that it is cute or is it too big of a stretch?

If you like it, use it. Nicknames don’t necessarily have to make intuitive sense or be pleasing to everyone in the world as long as they mean something special to the people who use them. My family nn rhymes with the last syllable of my name – lyn – and it isn’t a word that most people would think of as pleasing. But the fact that it’s what my loved ones have sometimes called me as far back as I can remember very much overrides those connotations.

I think it’s pretty cute as nns go, anyway. It sounds stylishly vintage, and very lively.

I love it and think it makes perfect sense. Use it!

I think [name]Lolly[/name] would a very sweet nn for [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name]. It’s unexpected but that’s part of the charm. When she gets older, you can use [name]Liv[/name] if she outgrows [name]Lolly[/name]. [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is wonderful by the way! Regards, [name]Mischa[/name].

I love [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name] “[name]Lolly[/name]”

Awww!

It’s adorable!

[name]Lolly[/name], [name]Lolly[/name], [name]Lolly[/name], get your adverbs here!

I think it’s an adorable nickname for [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

love it, considering it myself

I was [name]Lolly[/name] to my friends (and lollipop, loz and lozenge among others  ) all through primary school. I hated being called [name]Lolly[/name] but that could’ve been because in NZ it’s the equivalent of calling me [name]Candy[/name]. They may as well have been calling me skittles or something. If it’s cute and vintage to your part of the world though, then use it! [name]Just[/name] thought I’d give a different perspective from a former [name]Lolly[/name]

I know a girl named [name]Lolly[/name]. It works.

My first thought was “[name]Lolly[/name], [name]Lolly[/name], [name]Lolly[/name] get your adverbs here”, as a previous poster mentioned. That’s not a bad thing - it got me all nostalgic about my childhood. You gotta love Schoolhouse [name]Rock[/name]! You should go with [name]Lolly[/name] - it’s fun!
