I recently discovered Sailee. It’s either hebrew/hindu/indian (seen mixed reviews) name that I’m having trouble finding the correct meaning for. Although from what I’ve found it has something to do with a flower. But I don’t know whether to spell it Sailee or Saylee or Sailey (Again I’ve seen many different “right” spellings)
Anyone know about this name? What do you think of this name?

I’m afraid all I can find is ‘Sai’ which means flower. I’ve not come across any ‘sailee’. I’ve checked name lists on Indian websites to try and be as accurate as possible, I don’t trust sites which let their members add any old name, they remind me of Wikipedia; you don’t know what’s real and what’s been made up.
It’s interesting, but it seems like a made-up name that crosses Sailor with the Kaylee/Hailey/etc trend. If I saw it on a child I very much doubt I would ever guess that it was supposed to be Hebrew/Hindi/Indian. A lot of sources attribute origins to made-up names that are just wrong, and if you’re having trouble finding a reliable seeming origin it may be that the name is just made-up. I also suspect that older people would often mishear it as Sally.
Edit: Here’s the blog of a girl named Sailee who says that her name is the name of a flower in the Marathi language(http://sailee-raje.blogspot.com/2006/10/sailee.html). If you Google “Sailee” with “Marathi” you get a lot of Indian women with that name. Marathi uses a different alphabet and there are a few different Romanized spellings that I’m seeing used - Sailee, Saylee, Sayli, and maybe Sayali, and there might even be others. So the name does appear to have Indian roots. Having said that, I would definitely have assumed it was a made-up take on the -aylee trend if I encountered a Sailee in real life.
I can facebook the name and see there’s plenty of people of [name]Indian[/name] decent with it. It’s a legit name, I just don’t know the meaning. There is also a Sailee International School in Mumbai

Excellent : ) As long as it’s real I have no issue with it. It sounds quite pretty. If the schools name is spelt Sailee then I guess that’s the proper spelling and the one I’d go with.
It’s definitely pretty. However, I think few people will recognize its Marathi roots, and it could easily blend in to the sea of -lee names ([name]Hayley[/name], [name]Miley[/name], [name]Marley[/name], [name]Kylee[/name]…). Up to you if that’s a concern.
Sailee is very pretty, Seaala is also pretty. See-al-ah.
It is pretty, and legit of course but I agree that many people will not know of its cultural significance and will probably assume you made it up to keep in trend with [name]Kaylee[/name]/[name]Haylee[/name]/[name]Baylee[/name] etc.
Sounds like a cross between [name]Haylee[/name] & [name]Sailor[/name]. I feel like unless there is a cultural connection to the name it will have a made-up feeling if that bothers you.
