WDYT? Twin boys Kane and Rhys or Quinn? Middles? Please help!

Hello! I haven’t posted in a while and wanted to thank everyone for the great lists! We’ve narrowed down names for our twin boys due in [name]May[/name] to either [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] or [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] unless we love something new that comes up. What do you think?

For middle names we would like to use family names however, we don’t have a lot to choose from: [name]William[/name], [name]John[/name], Trafford, [name]Brant[/name], [name]Maxine[/name], [name]Lynn[/name], [name]Randy[/name], [name]Carol[/name]. I’m thinking of using [name]William[/name] and putting [name]Brant[/name] and [name]Lynn[/name] together to form Brantlynn for the other. Opinions please!

Current favorites: [name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] Brantlynn or [name]Kane[/name] Brantlynn and [name]Quinn[/name] [name]William[/name]…

Any and all advice/opinions welcome. Thank you!!!

I really love [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]. They complement each other nicely without being matchy, whereas [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] clash in style and sound very similar.

The middle names are a little harder. [name]How[/name] many syllables is your surname? My personal choices from your list would be [name]Kane[/name] Trafford and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]William[/name]. I would hesitate with putting [name]Brant[/name] and [name]Lynn[/name] together since the -lyn ending is popular for girls. Brantlynn looks like a kreeatif invention to honor a [name]Brant[/name] in a girl’s name. Really that’s not all important since it would be the middle name, but I might save [name]Lynn[/name] for another child and use [name]Brant[/name] on its own. [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Brant[/name] isn’t bad as a first and middle name.

agirlinred: Thank you so much for your advice. Our surname is two syllables and rhymes with cleaver. Any other names you would particularly like to flow nicely with [name]Kane[/name] for twin 2?
Thank you!!!

[name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] definitely! [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] sound too matchy, matchy. I don’t care for Brantlynn, because it looks and sounds feminine. I love [name]William[/name] and think you need another 2- 3 syllable middle name for the short first names. Are you set on the ones listed above? [name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Edward[/name] would be a nice pair.

[name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] definitely. I love the name [name]Quinn[/name], but it’s too matchy with [name]Kane[/name].

I also agree: [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]. [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] are too clashy/matchy. I don’t care for Brantlynn myself; it looks feminine and trendy/made-up… If you don’t like [name]Brant[/name] on its own (I second agirlinred’s suggestion of [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Brant[/name]!), maybe Brantson, [name]Branton[/name], or [name]Brantley[/name] would sound better to your ear (even if it doesn’t knock out honoring two family members with one stone). Trafford goes GREAT with either one. Perhaps you could use [name]Maxim[/name] or [name]Maxwell[/name] or [name]Maximilian[/name] to honor [name]Maxine[/name]. And for [name]Randy[/name], what about [name]Bertrand[/name], [name]Randolph[/name], or [name]Randall[/name]? Ooh, and just thought of [name]Brandt[/name], a [name]German[/name] name that kind of mashes [name]Randy[/name] and [name]Brant[/name]…?

[name]Kane[/name] Trafford and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Brant[/name]/[name]Brandt[/name]
[name]Kane[/name] [name]Branton[/name]/Brantson and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Maxim[/name]
[name]Kane[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] Trafford
[name]Kane[/name] [name]Randall[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]William[/name]

[name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]…not a fan of [name]Kane[/name]
Brantlynn???horrible
Horrible even for a girl but never ever on a boy
[name]Quinn[/name] is pretty popular for girls

Definitely [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]. I like the idea of [name]Maxwell[/name] to honor [name]Maxine[/name], and like Trafford as well. I think both of those sound great with either name, but I’d say [name]Kane[/name] Trafford and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name].

Thanks so much for your honest opinions. I agree that Brantlynn isn’t the best but you’ve given me some other nice options. Trafford [name]Brant[/name] and [name]Maxine[/name] were my parents who are both passed. I would like to honor a family member on my husband’s side too by using [name]William[/name] for one twin. It sounds as if [name]Rhys[/name] is the overwhelming favorite (mine too) so maybe [name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] Trafford or [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Brandt[/name] (kinda like the idea of mashing [name]Brant[/name] and [name]Randy[/name] here as ellenelle suggested) or [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name]? Or possibly [name]Kane[/name] Trafford and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]William[/name]?

Thanks again for your help. Very much appreciated!!!

I think [name]Quin[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] sound best together actually. I’m not a fan of [name]Kane[/name], but it’s your babies! I like [name]William[/name] okay…but not really any of the other family names. Brantlynn does not work in my opinion. I think it would sound best to just choose other names for the middles.

Thanks again for all the help! I think our top combo at this point is [name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Brantley[/name]. Thoughts? Any other ideas, I’d love to hear them!

[name]Just[/name] want to say that I know [name]Kane[/name] might be a major turn off to some people, but I really like it! [name]Kane[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] sound good together in my book.

vbjodi05 - Thank you for your vote of confidence! I had started to question [name]Kane[/name] a little bit but my husband and I really like it too. It has a strong, masculine feel but not too harsh. We were looking for the same “feel” for twin B and hoping we found it with [name]Rhys[/name].

[name]Kane[/name] & [name]Rhys[/name] for me too, but I don’t mind [name]Rhys[/name] & [name]Quinn[/name] together either (not [name]Kane[/name] & [name]Quinn[/name] though).

[name]Kane[/name] Trafford & [name]Rhys[/name] [name]William[/name] are both lovely and my favourite with the middle names you have available.

Would you consider [name]Maxwell[/name] in honour of [name]Maxine[/name]? [name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] & [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] would be gorgeous!

Otherwise, you could consider [name]Jonathan[/name] and [name]Brantley[/name] to honour [name]John[/name], [name]Brant[/name] and [name]Lynn[/name].

[name]Kane[/name] [name]Brantley[/name] & [name]Rhys[/name] Trafford
[name]Kane[/name] [name]William[/name] & [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name]
