[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone!
So far my husband and I can only agree on [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] as our baby’s name if it’s a boy, BUT our cat’s name is [name_m]Louie[/name_m].
What would you do? Go for [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and re-name the cat? Or choose a new name?
Your thoughts are really appreciated!
I think that the names are a bit too similar for my liking, but you could still manage if you decided to use both names. It would be a bit hard - maybe more than a bit - but eventually you will come around.
That being said, the two not having similar names would be ideal. I recommend waiting some time before deciding: you say that you like [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] if it is a boy, which makes me think you’re still pretty far from birth. You might find a name that you both like just as or more than [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].
I think getting suggestions of similar names from other berries might be appropriate. I refrain from doing that because I just don’t know enough about boy names.
If you don’t find a name you love more, it all comes down to priorities. No one is more qualified to make this decision than you and your husband. Ask yourself whether you feel like it’s more important to respect your cat’s name (since he came into your life first, you might feel that it deserves to keep his name) or to give the name you love to your son.
Personally, I’d change the name of the cat.
